I purchased a birthday cake from them for $76.88 and it was disgusting. No one in the whole party took more than one bite I had to throw away every piece I cut and the other half of the cake I have but am going to throw away because no one wants it. It looked okay being last minute but it tasted horrible to e icing left a greasy film on your tongue the cake tasted like they burnt it and put water on it to moisten it back up. I told them this they told me for lack of better words go somewhere else next time. Then they told me I wouldn’t get a refund because they didn’t mess the cake up and I had cut it so it wasn’t under terms of a refund . They have horrible customer service before I ordered the cake I got the invoice it said it has to be paid by the end of the day but they said that I had to pay by 10am that morning so I informed them I would be able to before 2pm but not earlier they said if I didn’t pay by 2 th ry wouldn’t make it but the invoice clearly said by the end of the day . When I arrived at the allotted time the said to pick up the cake they didn’t have it boxed and ready and were on video calls so they got someone else to get it and give it to me then whispered to me as I left “do you like it?” It was hours before the party I had no choice but to like it visually I accepted it but it tasted horrible. Some of the kids said it tasted like the inside of a balloon . I just had an all around bad experience with them and they should do better if they want returning customers

    Business Response

******,Hello! We are saddened to see you have filed a false complaint. Per our conversations, which I will be attaching as proof, you never once complained about anything other than it not being sweet enough for you. As I explained earlier, a preference in taste does not constitute a refund. Our bakery is well known for its European style desserts, and it is advertised on all social media. It is assumed that when potential clients contact us, they have read through our information and understand we are not an American style bakery with overly sweet product. We accepted your order last minute, and extended the payment deadline for you to accommodate your needs. The end of the day for the invoice is set to our business hours, which is 2pm. As for the video call, I was in a board meeting with a non profit that supports the trauma survivors employed by our bakery. The cake was not boxed so you could be shown the cake before hand. This is custom practice for us. I apologize you were upset that we allowed you to see the cake before it was boxed. As for the claims of being burnt and water added, I can attest this is a false claim. Every cake is tested and your cake was baked the day it was decorated, not soaked, and decorated per your request. Again, we are saddened you felt the need to file partially false claims with the BBB against a small business because your cake was not as sweet as you prefer it. As I previously recommended, I encourage you to try other bakeries in the area. We wish you the best.
