My granddaughter attended this gym and took classes on Friday nights. During the 2024 summer season we took a break due to other sporting activities. We rejoined the gym fall of 2024. My granddaughter’s dad took her. On the very first day she complained about the instructor. I brushed it off . Well the complaining only got more intense to where she had extreme anxiety. I took her to a counselor to get to the bottom of this. After her babysitter brought her home from the gym from extreme anxiety , stress and crying , I decided I need to go to see what the issue was that was causing my 7 year old fear and emotional stress. She pointed out the instructor to me and as I was talking to the instructor, my grandchild stood in the corner terrified and was weeping beyond belief. I asked why is she crying , she said this instructor yells at her and rolls her eyes at her. However she is terrified of this instructor. I even changed classes and even when she sees this lady when we walk in she cries uncontrollably. On Jan 13 I asked the instructor to meet with us to apologize to my grandchild. During this attempt the owner, Brandon Sloan , dismissed the instructor and proceeded to question my grandchild. During the discussion he refused to even acknowledge the concerns of myself and my granddaughter! He stated he has never had a complaint about this instructor. And he refused to even acknowledge that perhaps something occurred and ignored my family. I want to mention that even when asked about the instructor from Mr Sloan my grandchild was in tears and terrified.
The fact that we were dismissed is disappointing & disturbing! Something happened & I want an investigation of this place for child abuse. My grandchild likes the new class and instructor. She never had an issue from our previous Friday evening sessions. The class I removed her from starts on Monday @ 6. She is with a new instructor and seems to be doing well with her. However the instructor who yells goes unchecked!

This is the owner of Dynamic Gymnastics. Thank you for addressing your concerns and I would like to address them from our point of view. We are a facility dedicated to children and their families. We strive to have the safest and most professional facility possible.
During our conversation with you, myself, your grand daughter, and two front desk receptionists as witnesses, neither one of you could give me an example of what actually happened or why you were demanding an apology from our instructor. In no way during our conversation was I dismissive. When asked about the incident these questions could not be answered by neither you or your grand daughter at which point you decided to walk away. Since these questions could not be answered I investigated further and spoke with the coach in question as well as multiple staff members who were aware of the issue at hand.
Through speaking with all parties involved I can confidently say that in no way shape or form has any coach threatened, abused, or yelled at your grand daughter or any other athlete in our facility. Yelling at or belittling children is not tolerated at our facility as we enforce a positive coaching environment from all of our instructors. Each one of our staff members are background checked, meticulously trained on coaching styles, take multiple courses on positive coaching, as well as child abuse before they become an instructor at our facility.
From my understanding, your grand daughter was asked multiple times by her coach to stop chewing on her hair and beads while in class. Not only is having her hair down and not pulled back securely a safety issue (and against our rules and policies) but having something in her mouth while performing various gymnastics elements is a major safety concern as they can choke. Your grand daughter was asked multiple times to stop and after the third warning she was asked to sit out temporarily until she was willing to listen to her coach and not chew on her hair. In no way should that be traumatizing to a student as you claim. This is simply a lack of following instructions.
Athlete safety is our number one priority while in the gym. This is an issue we do not take lightly as gymnastics can be a dangerous sport if not taught properly with specific safety measures in place. And we will not ask any of our employees to apologize for practicing safe gymnastics coaching.
We are the best and most respected children's gymnastics facility in the area and have been for the last 10 years due to our continued staff training, required course work, and safety measures we have in place for all staff and athlete members.
