My family has used the Salem dealership for decades, with multiple cars. They have sold us vehicles, maintained and repaired them. Pinkerton Chevy has always treated us right. We will continue to work with them.

Do not go here unless you want to be lied to about your vehicle. The folks here at Pinkerton told me that my vehicle was low on compression in cylinders 2,3,4 and that I would either need a rebuild or total engine replacement ($8500 for complete replacement)
However, I had a gut feeling that compression wasn’t the issue since the cylinder numbers they told me were on the opposite side and the engine would hardly even run at all given the fact that 3 cylinders were basically down. I picked up the truck and immediately went home to check the compression (truck ran completely fine the whole way home) …. Compression was perfectly normal as suspected. They did refund me the diagnostic fee $140 but refused to offer a gift card or anything to make it right as I was hoping for considering the fact that I wasted time, money, and gas taking it to them.
They offered to diagnose it for free a second time (laughable). Such a shame that you can’t trust anyone anymore. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEIR SERVICE DEPARTMENT AT ALL.

Horrible customer service, my service advisor never returned phone calls. I ended up speaking with the service manager about why I was never receiving phone calls updating me and he really did not have an answer other than "Oh I thought he was going to call you back". He claimed he would tell him to call me, which apparently never got relayed because not once did I actually receive a phone call update from my advisor. My truck was there from June 28th through August 11th. Completion was promised on 4 separate dates, they did not meet any of the dates. They were able to provide me with a loaner car on July 22, which made it a little better, but that still does not excuse the poor communication and lack of ability to meet finish dates. Not sure if I will ever be returning here.

We absolutely strive to provide our customers with an outstanding customer service experience, so we are disappointed to hear that Mr. ********’ was not up to par.
Mr. ********’ 2017 Chevrolet Silverado came to Pinkerton Chevrolet on June 28, 2022, with the complaint that he was hearing a ticking sound coming from the engine. We verified his complaint. We removed the cylinder heads and found the exhaust lifter on cylinder number two had failed. We inspected the camshaft through a bore hole and found the camshaft was also damaged. Mr. ******** had extensive damage to his vehicle. Unfortunately, all the parts that were needed to repair his vehicle, were not readily available, some of which were on backorder from General Motors.
Once all the parts were available, we repaired Mr. ********’ truck. We installed a new camshaft into the vehicle along with all new lifters and lifter guides. We reinstalled the cylinder heads replacing all necessary gaskets and bolts.
Mr. ******** mentions we missed four deadlines. Anytime there is extensive repairs, it is hard to provide an exact date for when a vehicle will be ready. Any number of factors can come into play. We apologize if the communication was not as it should have been.
Mr. ******** also states Pinkerton Chevrolet gave him a rental car. We did do this even though he was underage to rent a vehicle from a rental company, such as ********** or *****, which General Motors would have also paid for.
Again, we apologize for any miscommunication. We’d greatly appreciate the opportunity to make things right and work toward earning back Mr. ********’ business.
