Terrible place. Got glasses and in less than a year they were so scratched I couldn’t see out of them. I only wore them and cleaned them with the provided cloth from Friedrichs. I took them back and they filed a warranty claim for the lenses. A month later I called to check and they were there. Even though I changed my phone number twice with them they had an old phone number. I had to leave my frames so the guy with white hair could cut the lens to fit inside my frames (which I bought from them when I got the initial set of lens before the warranty pair). They kept calling them 3rd party frames like I didn’t buy them there. Later that day I picked up the glasses with new lens installed. Less than 2 weeks later the lens have fractures all around the edges. I took them in for them to look at them and the blonde haired women with glasses that acts like she runs the place told me that she had never seen single vision lens do that before only bifocals. She then proceeded to tell me the lens were beginning to peel apart and that they shouldn’t be doing that. She requested to keep the glasses so she could show the guy in the back and to get them replaced. I left thinking they would be fixed due to them being defective. I received a call several hours later informing me that they would not replace them because I had already used my warranty. I said they were defective and should be fixed and she informed me that I could buy another set. She proceeded to try to sell me new lens 3 or 4 more times before the phone call was over. I explained what I was told when I was inside the optical department early that day and she once again said I could purchase a new set. She even went so far as to blame it on me by asking what I did to the lens to make them look that way. Now I am without glasses until my insurance will cover a new pair months from now. I am disabled and on a fixed income. I can’t afford a pair of glasses out of pocket. Friedrichs only cares about Money.

I went for a routine eye exam I feel I was "medically profiled". They refused to take my vision care, which they participate in because I have type 2 diabetes. My regular insurance does not cover routine eye exams. My vision care does cover it. Charged me a $70.00 co-pay and claim was denied by my insurance because they do not cover routine eye exams, hence why I pay extra for vision care. All said and done, I payed $180.00 for something that should have costed me $10.00. My eye exam came out fine. They considered themselves "specialist" because of my DX. I feel they are profiling. Nothing special was done at all. Matter of fact I saw the intern and I asked several times, "is this all routine" his answer was yes every time I asked. I was waiting for the "special" I paid for. My co-worker, has same insurance and type 2 diabetes, got his routine exam for the $10.00 co-pay. I feel this business should be investigated. They are medically profiling patients. Very sad they feel they can do this to patients. I will never go back there again. I have had this DX for a few years now and no other eye Doctor has ever charged my health insurance instead of my vision care. Shame on them!
