On 07/01/22, a custom valance was installed over my patio door (that has now been mis-measured twice) by the contact person at Pink Blinds and Shutters at 1445 Dolley Madison Blvd in McLean, VA 22101. The installer sent pictures as well as the correct measurement (108") to Pink Blinds and Shutters notifying them the valance was incorrectly measured. Altogether, I spent approximately $5,800 for my custom blinds and valances for my den and kitchen, of which this patio door valance was part of this order. The company had to correct another set of mismeasured blinds and valance for another set of patio doors, but for the valance on this particular door, the contact person at Pink Blinds and Shutters relayed the measurement was close enough. But it is not correct and it does not fit properly. The contact person was to come to the house to remeasure on 09/20/22 and 09/22/22, to correct this problem, but cancelled both appointments. The original order was placed on 10/26/21 in my name (no account #). The company was paid in full in 2 payments (10/26/21 and 10/28/21) re being a custom order. I would like for this company to replace this mismeasured valance at the correct length of 108" as relayed by the installer on 07/01/22.

      Hello,

This is to formally address the complaint ID ********; **** *****.

We appreciate *** ***** for taking the time to explain this thoroughly. In our business we strive to meet our clients design expectations to the best of our abilities. Unfortunately, sometimes we are not able to meet that exact demand as requested by the client. So in *** *****’s case we had done this project twice. The first time it was not to *** *****’s expectations and we completely understood how important it was for us to try to meet that demand as well as we could. This led to the second time we did this project for *** *****, once again we were not able to meet the expectations set by *** ***** fully. Now in our professional opinion her window treatment cannot get any further improvement due to the specific design of her window frame. We truly apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused *** ***** however, we can say the least we worked with our utmost effort on this project for her.

While we can’t build exactly what you’re after, we do appreciate the feedback and thank you once again for taking the time to talk to us!

      best regards,

      -- Noor H. Pink Blinds and Shutters ***** ********

       Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:

      12/15/22

I am sorry to hear that Sia H****** will not be replacing my valance to the correct size. He is only hurting himself and the reputation of the Company by not acknowledging this measuring mistake (made by him). This is evident in conjunction with numerous customer complaints that are displayed on **** regarding the poor quality of work and customer service by Pink Blinds and Shutters. The solution, in my case, is a simple one. That of sending a qualified installer out to do the measuring for him, of which he has one. Sia is not an installer, therefore not realizing the extent of problems that could arise upon the installation process, he should not be doing the measuring. I have spent a lot of money for my custom project and the end result is one of that not looking custom. I am upset and hope that future customers review this company's ratings prior to doing business with Pink Blinds & Shutters before receiving a result least expected and costing thousands of dollars for mistakes beyond their control. I would like to see Sia step up to the plate and fix the valance to the exact measurement of 108", that of which his installer has sent pictures to him and the appropriate measurement needed to correct his error. Unfortunately, pictures do not lie.  And unfortunately, if not corrected, I end up with a product and service that is unsatisfactory.

I thank the Better Business Bureau for helping to assist me in resolving this matter.  Hopefully, my comments will alert future customers to problems that may arise when dealing with Pink Blinds and Shutters.

      Regards,

      **** *****
