    This complaint is regarding the TEA center. We visited the TEA center in the spring of 2023 to see if it would be a suitable venue for our son's daycare needs. The day we visited the center, we were notified that if we registered on the same day, the registration fee of ($199.00) would be waived. We registered the same day to start on 21 July 2023. We made a payment of $1799.00 on May 4, 2023 (Invoice number ********) to account for the first month of care. We noticed around the end of June, that the TEA center's license was expiring on 30 June 2023. By early July, the state informed us that the TEA center was given a provisional license to expire in Decembe of 2023 instead of the standard two year renwal. The reason given was "repeated violations " at the business. Since we had no assurance that the TEA center would be operating after December, and daycare spots are hard to find, we immediately notified the TEA center that our son would not be starting with them. We requested a refund of the $1799.00. The staff at the TEA center initially tried to blame the State inspectors for communicating with us, but admitted that their license was a provisional license that would terminate in December. They agreed to refund us only $1600.00 since they claim that the registration fee of $199.00 is nonrefundable. We have a statement credit of 1600.00, but the TEA center refuses to actually refund the money claiming they don't have our bank information. I asked them for a check, I asked to stop by their billing office, have called their front office, visited them in person, but have yet to receive my refund back. We have been attempting to address this problem for the last 52 days and the TEA center has ignored our emails, and has failed to return our calls. Request that the TEA center refund the full amount and contact us for an explanation as to why the delay in refunding the cost.

    We had to move our child immediately from TEA to other daycare due to immediate safety concern to my child in the center. My child is still recovering from repeated incidences/traumas that occurred in the center. The issue has been acknowleged by Child Protection Service and there is an ongoing investigation. The TEA is refusing to return our deposit since we did not give them 8wks of advanced notice.

    Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to file a complaint against the T.E.A Centre in Mclean, VA. My kids used to go there in 2021 and 2022 for the before and after school program. I have been paying every month, and when I needed invoices and records of attendance, I called them, and asked for it twice in August 2022. I never got them, so I took some time off from work and stopped by their office on 09/20/2022 and talked to the person at the front desk who promised to send me the attendance records and asked to email [email protected] to get the invoices. I sent my first email to them on 09/22/2022, when I didn't hear back from them. On 10/10/2022 I sent another email requesting the documents I received no response at all. On 10/12/2022 around 8:20 pm I posted a review on ****** and took the matter into public, at 9:30 pm I got a response from billing, saying that the information is available on the phone app. I informed them that I could not email or print through the app, and I needed documents. Billing informed me to either remove the comment or else they would have their attorney contact me. I agreed to remove the post, and I did but never received anything. Billing has been going back and forth with me through 17 emails, but never sent me any of the documents I asked for. These documents are required for child support and child custody cases, I would greatly appreciate it if you could help me get them.

    We signed an toddler program enrollment for our daughter on 03/29/2022. We paid one month of tuition fee, i.e., $1,899, as deposit to secure the spot. The toddler program should have started on 09/01/2022. We inquired about giving up the spot of the toddler class on 08/26/2022. TEA center staff replied in writing on 08/27/2022 stating that "If you already paid for fall and don’t want to go through with it and dis enroll there will not be a refund because there was not a 8 week notice for the dis enrollment. You only need to make payments if ******* will be there, you can’t get charged if she isn’t attending." The reply cannot be clearer that we would not get our deposit back, and we don't need to make further payments if my daughter is not attending. Based on the clear message from TEA center staff, we forfeited the security deposit and understood that there would not be any further payments. We were okay with that. We went ahead to enroll my daughter in another school. However, the TEA center continued to charge me a two-week toddler tuition fee $949.50 on 08/29/2022. They were ready to charge more since the auto-payment could not be canceled from their app. I am asking for the following: - Refund $949.50 charged on 08/29 - Refund $215.00 due to their cancelation of last two days of infant summer camp - Compensation of $30 that we were charged by the bank to block further auto-payment from the TEA center
