In July 2022, I received an email stating that I was invited join The Society for Collegiate Leadership. This is was my first (junior year) time in school at this university. I completed the process to sign up and it requested I pay $95. I paid the $95 on 08/14/2022. Once I sent the payment I never received any further information about the program in my email or at my home address. I feel like this business is fraudulent. I tried reaching out to the business several times and no one answers. I have since joined a different honor society through the chapter at my university and I have had an induction ceremony and received a certificate, t-shirt, medallion, and stickers. I feel much safer with the new one I joined. I would like my $95 refunded back to my account and my membership with The Society for Collegiate Leadership canceled.

      Hello,

We have refunded the payment and have terminated the account as requested. I have attached the receipt to our response. However, I looked through our emails and past call log and I was unfortunately unable to locate any past attempts to reach out under the contact information that was provided. I apologize for any inconvenience, please reach out if there is anything else we can assist with.

I received an e-mail telling me that I had received an invitation to join The Society of Collegiate Leadership and Achievement and decided to apply, but I was told to pay a fee of $95.00. I did not think much about this and decided to pay the fee by debit card on 12/14/2022, but I wish I would have looked further into it before I made that decision, because after reading other reviews on this I have found that joining was a waste of time and money, and I would like to have my $95.00 refunded and to have my membership cancelled and account terminated.

      Business Response

      Date: 09/20/2022

      Hello,

We have already provided a refund for ************. I have attached the receipt of the refund to this message. Additionally, we have told ************ multiple times that she has us confused with another honor society, as she was initially attempting to get a refund on a transaction that did not come from our organization. I will attach the emails to this message as well. I was able to identify it was for another honor society, as she provided a receipt for a transaction that was for another honor society, as the SCLA only charges a one time fee of $95. 00 USD and it was under another name. I have tried multiple times to point her in the right direction to the other honor society, but she refuses to reach out to them for further assistance. We have provided her refund for her membership with the SCLA, however she will need to contact the other honor society for further assistance, as we cannot do anything more on our part.

Please let me know if there is anything else we need to provide on our end.

After careful consideration and reading many reviews, I have decided to cancel my membership. I'm not sure where to go because their website doesn't provide much information about it. I feel scammed and just want to back off from this organization. Not sure who to email but all I want is my money back, thank you.
