I had a working car that only needed mechanical engine work and after so called repair and **** dollars just to get my keys from mechanic. The car now doesnt run leaks fluid and is grinding metal from under the crank. My car had a chirping noise indicating wear on the main and rod bearings ***************** told me to start car it started and ran for *********************************************** to shut it off. he charged me 900 to take engine apart and diagnose where indeed we found a worn crank and rod and main bearings. I asked him was the top end okay. He said yes everything looks fine compression good. He worked up a parts list and said the repair should be cut and dry. 5 months into the repair he calls me saying the car wont run and its dumping fuel into the intake. Well the car ran even with the chirping noise so it wasnt electrical. I have numerous witnesses and video of car running with said chirping noise. I told him it had to be something he did because it ran before he messed with it. He said it was nothing he did and something else now i paid for a car in worse condition than when i left it while he said it was fixed. he said the car was not drivable and it would hardly idle. Not to me mention it didnt start to prove he fixed it.. Have photos and time stamp photos of car "after repair" from tow truck driver of non running car, massive fluid leaks and metal shavings under crank pulley(fresh metal shavings) This guy basically stole a little over 5k from me with no remorse what so ever. I felt like im in the twilight zone . i did not sign the invoice where it said satisfactory service. His receipt says " A shop that actually cares" i got robbed plain and simple now my car is in worse shape after getting "repaired". Help would be greatly appreciated and **** lies to cover his misdeeds. H e has several contradicting statements to consumer protection to prove thisBusiness Response

Good morning, when Mr. ****** had his car towed to my shop he told me he had just purchased this car and thinks he got ripped off. The car is a full blown race car and has Nitrous Oxide installed. We do not warranty any labor based on this alone. When Mr. ****** started it so I could see what was going on with the car. It was started for a few seconds and I immeddiately asked Mr. ****** to shut the car off because I knew from the sound it needed a minimum of crank bearings. At that time I told him we would need to break the motor down and diagnose it to see what damage had been done to the bottom of the motor. I also told Mr. ****** that there could be more wrong with his engine, but to keep running it would quickly cause more damage to the bottom end of the motor(the heart of the motor). We pulled the motor down and found not only that the crank bearings were bad, but that he needed a new crank because the journals were to far gone to just put bearings in it. All repairs were discussed and approved by Mr. ******* We ordered ************* from summit racing and local vendors to match what he had in his engine. Once the motor was put back in his car we went to crank it and the battery was dead. We put in an interstate battery that we had on hand as a temporary one and started the car. The crank noise was gone completely, but we noticed the car was misfiring and started working on figuring it out. We spent days looking and replacing sensors and solenoids trying to find the problem which I had to pay labor to technicians that I never added to Mr. ******* bill. Once we got to the crank sensor, which controls which cylinder gets fire at what time, we noticed the wiring just short of the plug was badly damaged and knew that there could be problems with firing order and having other issues elsewhere based on this find. I have attached pictures of the wiring to show the damage from the heat of the engine caused more than likely from spraying the engine with nitrous oxide or overheating. The wires were also taped with duct tape which is a big no no. I called Mr. ****** to let him know our findings and he immediately started accusing us of doing this to his car and cussing me non stop. At that point I told Mr. ****** he could come pick his car up because we didn't do wiring projects like this and didn't want to deal with a customer that acted like this after finding a problem with his vehicle. Our shop is not equipped to handle wiring issues such as these. Concerning the leak, Mr. ****** took pictures of a rollback bed after his car had been placed on it and that had not been started for 24 hours and says the fluid that he took pics of came from his car. That wouldn't be possible and would be pretty hard to tell based on the fact that it had rained all night before he came to pick the car up. I am attaching pics to show the car in the shop before and right after (no fluid under the car after moved from shop bay) we parked it where it stayed until he picked it up (Jan 5th).Mr. ****** should have taken pics of the actual leak coming from the car if there was one, which there was not. Wrecker beds typically always have fluid on them, they pick up broke down and wrecked cars. Where was the pressure to cause the leak when the engine hadn't been running in 24 hours? The new shavings were more than likely coming from the new harmonic balancer that Mr. ****** had to have that was almost $500 alone. I showed him the old balancer and explained why he should keep it, but he wanted what the new one anyway. Mr. ****** should take a look at the harmonic balancer when the new shop removes it to show it more than likely has the groove to show where "if" any new shavings are present came from. Facts are : We took the car, put in the labor to find the main problem that needed to be fixed before it could be run to figure out the other issues Mr. ****** had. Once Mr. ****** agreed to doing the work to the bottom of the motor, my shop paid for brand new parts(have receipts from summit) and paid labor to mechanic and Mr. ****** wants a refund? What sense does that make? We fixed the main issue and owe him nothing. Mr. ****** is clearly a con artist. Lastly, when Mr. ****** came to pick the car up, I was going to start the car and let him hear it run, but the battery was dead and it barely turned. When that happened Mr. ****** immediately started verbally abusing me again stating that I had killed his battery, when in fact, the battery was dead when we went to start the car once the work had been performed and had to put an interstate battery from the shop in it to get it to start. At that point I had enough of his verbal abuse, refused to jump the car, and wanted him to pay and leave. Mr. ****** did so after cussing me to the ground while I just listened and feared a little that he would get physical, so I was just happy at that point to see him go. He(after several minutes of yelling) called the wrecker and had it pulled on the tow truck with the wench. Taking pics of a rollback bed with fluid on it when it had just rained and the car had not been started in 24 hours does not prove his car was leaking because it was not. The pictures I am attaching show there was no leak. This is clearly an attempt to get his car repaired for free. We have been in business for going on 6 years now and serve Virginians proudly! I have 5 witnesses that are willing and say they would gladly testify to what they saw, heard, and know if needed.Customer Answer

Better Business Bureau:
I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed. This guy lies at every turn and contradicts his own statement. The car ran because he asked me to start it he could not prove that he fixed car because it did not run upon payment. i work at a battery shop and the battery was brand new. He let it sit for months and didnt charge it. The fluids leak was fresh because the tow truck driver has to wash the bed before putting another car on their. As he told me he would have to wash it after he towed my car. I can give you his number because he is a witness in the case. Also **** contradicts himself with the harmonic balancer. I f he ordered the right one for the car and installed it correctly it wouldnt start grinding metal and leaving filings under it. The wiring was fine because the vehicle ran. i have video and witnesses that can verify this a day before getting towed to him. The shop where it is now had to go behind him and fix his rewire job because it was wrong like everything else he did. His rewiring was unnecessary and wrong. New shop had it idling but they noted engine noise from loose mechanical parts installed by gregs irresponsibleness. they are writing everything up for me. **** is lying to save his business. The car is not a drag car its a daily driver with performance parts and is has past state inspection. ******* was never used as per the previous owner told me. The car had a stock bottom end ie : crank bearings harmonic balancer and they start failing at higher mileage engines common with ls engines. When **** tore the engine we verified this as per the quote in pics i added the harmonic balancer because its better than stock. I also asked before paying for parts if the top end valves lifters cam and compression were good he said they were good thats why the parts quote was a lil over 3k. but when he repaired car it ballooned over 5k on final bill saying he dod all this troubleshooting and low compression which where was that in the first part quote he mentioned that on just the final bill like what? come on man. He totally ruined a car that just needed mechanical work done. i just want most of my money back. i dont want to drag him through the mud. he can give me a call *********** if he is serious about making it fair and making it right.
