I setup a service agreement on 9/16/24 with Spire Pest Control, when they came to my home on an unannounced sales call. I was decently impressed with their sales *** and he assured me multiple things that led to me moving forward. It was when the technician showed up that everything went south. The first visit, though they informed me they would always notify before coming, they showed up unannounced treated outside for less than 10 minutes and left on 10/10/24. I had to tell them to come back because they didnt treat inside since I wasnt home. They came back on 10/26/24. I was having our home treated for fleas for the first time and was told it would be prioritized but waited for two weeks. The service tech then let me know it was best that I not be home and to stay gone for at least 3-4 hours. I showed him how to secure our home when he left and since my home was under surveillance, I agreed to leave him there. He was adamant about our animals must not come back in til we got home. When I got home tho, my garage door was wide open, the door into our home was wide open. All the animals in the home, I checked my camera and they entered as soon as the tech left so they were inside and fully exposed to the chemicals. Also while on camera the tech never went upstairs as promised, barely sprayed anywhere in our home downstairs and left within 5 min of us leaving. When I called to ***ort the tech for leaving my home and family compromised, instead of addressing my concern, they advised the tech to call me and his concern was that I left a bad review. It took weeks to hear back from an actual manager and when I did they never apologized. Never said that what happened was wrong and refused to cancel my agreement. They claim I still owe $350 for a service I never received and will never trust to have them in my home again. I want all monies given to be refunded to me, ($135), a written notice of canceled agreement, and I want an apology for putting my family at risk.

I would like to file a complaint on the Spire Pest Control business listed above.Awful company to deal with They are charging way above the listed prices stated to me from the moment I first talked. They provided no customer service plus they were rude in the way communication in dealing with a paying customer. I have pictures of the colony of ants that was discovered and had no manager and or service manager to discuss my complaints. The ant colony was all over the counter top, walls, garbage disposal switch. The ants very active for over 2 weeks. please call me for more info ************ I HAVE PICTURES IF NEEDED TO PROVE THIS COMPLAINT. I ONLY WANT MONIES THAT I PAYED ALREADY.

We made multiple attempts to work with the customer who wanted unrealistic results in no time at all. He signed a year long agreement and we serviced him 4 times in 2 months. Every time we would bait for ants he would go behind us and wipe away the bait we used. After attempting to work with him and continuing to take multiple calls from him that were very unprofessional he threatened a lawsuit at which time we had no choice but to cancel his contract which included his early termination fee that was applied to his account. We have all records of calls, notes and contract. We made every attempt to satisfy this customer with no help from the customer.

*********************** (supposed manager) was very rude in our discussion regarding the ant colony that. In the walls of my home. Had no clue how approach the problem. At one point I had 300 plus ants crawling all over my kitchen and eating surfaces. The ant bait his poison left by his employee caused the garbage disposal quick working . I need to call an electrician to replace the disposal switch. Then ****** wanted me to pay for the $250.00 termination fee and $98.00 service fees after ruining my kitchen. Very unsatisfactory customer service and or poor business since.

Pest control person came solicited our home and advised he does pest control for **** Homes. We had only lived in the home 1-2 weeks. He made it seem like it was a part of the service that came with our new home. He had my husband sign and said it would be $150. It was an electronic keypad so my husband didn't really see what he was signing. My husband didn't even know he was signing up for quarterly pest control until I called the company to dispute the bill which is when I was told about the quarterly service. When he was at our home he did something outside, never came inside our home and we received a bill for $289. We attempted to resolve with company and the supervisor which accomplished nothing. This is not a service we wanted or needed and would like it resolved. We have not yet paid anything and would like our balance to be reduced to zero, considering it was solicitation and pest control worker did not even do an accurate service spraying inside and out. Also, we did do not even have pests. This is with Spire ************** *******************************************************. We requested for any future services to be cancelled as we do not wish to do business with this company after this experience.

This customer was sold a pest ********************** service via Door to Door sales on 08/24/2023. The salesman for this transaction has been an employee since ************************************************** untruthfulness. Our sales people are in company branded uniforms and the work vehicle is fully wrapped in bright green with our company logo, so there is no confusion as to who we represent. A service agreement was signed by ************* on 08/24/2023 and the exterior portion of their initial service was performed the same day, as arranged by *************.

Under #5 of our signed service agreement, it states the following, "A scheduled service day will be established between SpirePest Solutions LLC and the client for the service and client agrees to make the premises available for the service. If premises are not available for treatment at the appointed time on the scheduled service day, Spire Pest Solutions LLC will service the residence and leave a record on the clients door. Client agrees to pay the normal service charge for this outside service. Spire Pest Solutions LLC will service the inside of the residence at no additional charge if requested by the client."

In short, a service was performed, and we have not been paid for the service.

Under #6 of our signed service agreement, it states the following, "If a client fails, for any reason, to make the scheduled payment within thirty (30) days from the due date, Spire Pest Solutions LLC has the right to discontinue service and begin collection proceedings. Upon failure to make such payments, the client agrees to pay all collection costs and attorneys fees, if applicable." The initial invoice was due on the date of service, and per the customer complaint, they have never made payment.

Under #7 of our signed service agreement, it states the following, "If for any reason, at any time, the agreement is cancelled before its completion, customer agrees to pay an early termination fee of $250, plus any
unpaid balances will be applied and charged."

On 10/09, this account was closed for non-payment, and a $250 early termination fee applied to the balance for not fulfilling the terms of the agreement.

This is a simple case of buyer's remorse and this customer not wanting to fulfill the terms of the agreement that they willingly entered into as evidence of our signed service agreement.

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ******** and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The soliciting company advised that they provide pest control for **** Homes. We had just purchased our home that was built by **** Homes. Hence, Spire company representative made it appear that this was a part of the purchase of our home. My husband signed but was never given anything in writing, he signed on a keypad and never saw any of the information that was in the reply from Spire to BBB which was interesting to read since it was not information provided to us. He was not aware this was a contract until we read the information the company provided. We were new to the neighborhood and were targeted. This is not a case of buyers remorse. If so, we would take on that responsibility and pay the bill as we ALWAYS pay our bills. It is a case that the company did not provide the service they are claiming they did which they have not addressed at all, much less that we were in a contract. When I called to have a conversation with the supervisor, she was very rude and would not at all listen to what I was saying. She said the person that she knew came to our home would not say that he sprays for **************, when after several times of her saying this, I asked her if she was there, and she acknowledged she was not. It is incomprehensible for her to defend a conversation where she was not present. She spoke over me, was hostile and would not listen which is why the conversation even escalated. This is the only reason we reached out to Better Business Bureau as no one is really looking out for the customer in this scenario.

Pest ********************** service sprays inside and outside your home. The company NEVER came inside our home to spray. We never saw what they did outside. Ironically, we have no pest, and we didnt even need this service.

We are an active-duty military family and there are so many things coming at us when we initially move that must be resolved which is why it appeared from the conversation the pest control company had with my husband thought this service came with purchasing our home per the presentation of the solicitor. He may have misspoken about **** Homes but that was the impression he gave. When you purchase a new home, there are so many services and signatures that are required, it is very easy to see how it all became misconstrued. THEY ARE CLAIMING THEY COMPLETED A SERVICE THEY DID NOT DO. We have not agreed to pay this bill because we are still disputing the bill over lack of service and disagreement, and Spire has already sent the bill to collections. We have never consulted Better Business Bureau over a service with a company until now, but this company seems to be looking out for themselves but did not at all listen to us as a customer, even after reaching out about our concerns. The fact that they have already sent this bill to collections while it is still being disputed shows their values as a company. Spire has some unethical practices that at minimum are concerning.

I started Spire Pest Control Service to help with the problems of mosquitoes and any ***** issue. The ***** issue was to be every other month and the mosquito service was to be every month. I was set up on this weird billing where I was charged every month. I had problems knowing when they were coming out to provide service. I had sent emails and called a couple of times. They told me I would start to receive text message notification a couple days before they come out. I then sent email notification to only charge me for services after it was done. I did not like prepaying since I was having so many issues with this company. This past month of October I received no notification and they didn't even come out. I sent email notification today to cancel my services because they did such a shoddy job. I come to find out they are charging me $500 cancellation fee which I never signed up for a contract for their service. nor do I think I should be paying for anything when they did not meet their obligation of showing up or even of notifying me of their service. I am currently disputing these charges with my bank. Should the charges go through What I want is to be fully reimbursed for $500 that I never gave authorization to bill me. This smacks of fraud trying to lock someone into a service of payment if the service was not provided or even charging any type of cancellation fee. This is not a cell phone service but pest control.

Thank you so much for reaching out to Spire Pest Control about this issue. I apologize for the delay. We wanted to take the time to ensure that your account was fully reviewed prior to responding. We attempted to contact *************** unfortunately she was not available to chat and insisted we close her account immediately. Upon review of the account appointment reminders via email, sms, and voice were sent out 2-3 days prior to every appointment. Attached are the contracts that the customer signed. I have gone ahead as a courtesy and refunded the $500 in early termination fees to the customers account. The account is closed and she does not owe anything additional.
