This "business" uses deceptive marketing techniques to make it appear that theirs is the official *** website. They charge $259-299 to process a form that that is FREE through the **** and do so without the *** required signed authorization to represent the business. [Per ***: The taxpayer must sign a completed Form SS-4 (Application for Employer Identification Number), including the third party designee section, prior to the third party making the online application. A copy of the signed Form SS-4 must be retained in the third party's files.]They have responded to a few BBB complaints (*** Tax ID; *********************** stating:"As we explain on our site, we are a third party which assists our customers with business incorporations and the associated documentations."WHERE do they indicate this? AFTER the SUBMIT button, (where most websites have their "site map" information), and in tiny print. That is not unintentional. The message that appears is: "Tax-id-ein-number.com is an application assistance and filing service that acts as a Third Party Designee to assist clients in obtaining Employer Identification Numbers (EIN) from the ***. We are not affiliated with the ************************ or any other federal or state organizations... Users of this site may also visit ****************** if they wish to complete an EIN number application free of charge on their own..."I attempted to cancel the transaction yesterday with no response from the company, and did receive a letter with my EIN this morning (which, after an hour on the phone was verified with the *** to be legitimate.) I did not sign an authorization form allowing them to represent me to the **** and this company now has sensitive information about both myself and my business that puts us at risk for identity theft and identity fraud. It surprises me that a class action suit has not been filed, and that they continue to be able to file as a third party without the required signatures.

They scam vulnerable sole proprietors into paying for a service that is free on the *** government website. The disclaimer that would have been pertinent to catching this was in small print after the purchase was made. This omission is criminal. We should ALL be refunded and our personal information should be deleted. Their website is misleading and search engines direct consumers to them too easily.

When I was looking to get an EIN number for my business, I did a ****** search expecting the *** website to come up. Normally, I'm careful but they had "irs" in their url, and I wasn't as careful as I should have been, so I clicked on it and filled in all my information. I'd previously used the real *** website, and this website is designed to look exactly like the real thing. It was only when it asked for the credit card information for a $249 payment that I got suspicious. Because I happened to know that this is a free service from the ***, I immediately emailed them asking them to delete my information. I also said I'd be filing a compliant with the BBB. They did email back in less than 24 hours claiming my information had been deleted. I can only hope.

0 stars. I attempted to receive a new EIN for my homeowners association via ein-tax-id-number.com because it seemed they were a division of the **** which they are not. They charge $269 for something that costs $0 through the **** They followed-up with a $100 discount via email, and said email did not contain an unsubscribe link. Note that the *** website is down from today 12/28/22 through 1/3/23, so their ability to obtain said EIN expeditiously is false advertising and duplicitous. The owners of this business should be criminally charged.

I thought I was on an IRS website and went through the application and was surprised they asked for a credit card. At no point did the site say they were not IRS. At no point did they say what the cost would be. I was in a hurry, using my phone... I know better! But got caught up in the moment, and it cost me hundreds of dollars, for ZERO value. I tried calling the company because I was afraid it was fraud and I had just given them way too much info, and it went to voice mail. But I did finally get the emails from them, so at least i was just a monetary theft, not identity theft. I don't think fake businesses like this should be allowed, they only make money by fooling people, offering nothing that we couldn't get for free.
