Jarrod was paid in portions for both jobs around 7/23/24, but I did still owe him about 1/2 of the 2nd job cost, with the agreement he would be paid in full when finished.

We are overall dissatisfied with the work done and his lack of showing up to finish the second job and he knows it.

He did excuse me from having to pay the full amount, but he also verbally promised to partially reimburse me for what I had paid him.

We are asking for a $300 refund and for him to get the rest of his tools, which were left on the job site and are STILL in our possession.

    Reasons why we are dissatisfied:

    Estimate #***
Promised to put weed barrier to block grass on both sides of the driveway. We visually saw him put down some of it, but he did not put down enough (or the right kind) because the grass grew back in the driveway within 1 month of the driveway repair.

Did not bring as much gravel as promised for the driveway, left a low spot at the top of driveway, pushed gravel into a flower bed on the other side of the top of the driveway, near the mailbox.

Cut the BOTTOM limbs from the wrong tree, now it looks awful. The right tree, which my grandson and I showed him was about 100ft away and needed the TOP limbs trimmed.
This was not 100% his fault because I reminded him a few weeks later about "trimming the tree beside the bird bath" and forgot I had two bird baths. One beside each tree, but he should have remembered the tree that we had shown him in person.

Plastic trash, bottles, food bags, and a small gravel pile was left in the yard for us to clean up.

Said he would bring us two railroad ties for the driveway because he had crushed one with his equipment.

    Estimate #***
He told us on 4 different days he would bring paint for someone else to finish the job he abandoned and said he would reimburse us for the repair costs from the other person. He never called to tell us he couldn't make it each time, we had to call him to ask why he didn't show. Excuses always.

    Business Response

This Job was supposed to be just a small Driveway job. I put down the weed barrier just as we were supposed to and I put it down on both sides up against the ties if a weed grew through or around it that is not my fault. The weed barrier does not always stop every weed especially when it’s butted against something. I have no problem giving the partial refund for this painting job. The tree the limb was cut out was I was told there was a bird bath and just tocut that branch I wasn’t told which bird bath and the limb I cut needed trimming anyway. I also done a lot of work  at this house free of charge and I really thought that all was fine or I wouldn’t have left my tools there I do not have a problem paying for the paint. This was one of those jobs where I was trying to help this lady because we had become friends and never once did she complain about anything that I had done. If she was not happy with it she could have at least told me . But nothing was ever said until now.
