    Had roof put on in 2011. Paid for all the extra bells and whistles in order to qualify for the “50” year roof warranty . Have had a minimum of six different leaks since the roof was Installed. Leaked in both bathrooms, our garage in 3 different areas and now it’s leaking in our living room. Our newest leak started about a week or so ago. Had another roofing company come out which inspected our roof and found that our shingles, were improperly nailed by the installers that Colony sent out. He checked over the whole roof and found this improper nailing pattern in more than 15 areas that he checked. The nails are on the edge of keyway joints. We also have exposed nailheads in other areas.We are now stuck with a less than 15 year-old roof having to be replaced. This is after spending over $**** in the last six years on repairs for other things done incorrectly. A portion of our roof had flashing missing as well as flashing installed incorrectly. That just costed us $*** to repair a little over a month ago. All the owner cares to talk about is how because we had other people working on our roof likely voided the warranty. But what he fails to realize is the improper installation from his crews voided our warranty a long time ago. He says he’s never had a roof with so many problems…The owner also does not like to take blame when things start to leak and likes to blame you for not doing yearly roof inspections, not having your roof sparkling clean, not having your roof soft washed etc. The fact of the matter is none of these issues could’ve been prevented before we noticed leaks. I get up on my roof often to clean it to remove debris from trees, but I should not have to sit there and scrutinize my roof for exposed nails and nails being placed in improper ways. Look for a smaller company that does things themselves and actually cares about the work and doesn’t pass blame when things go wrong and makes it right
