    I bought some giftcards on the merchant's website (GROUP A) and used the giftcards to place orders (GROUP B) on the merchant's website. The merchant cancelled my orders (GROUP B) and refused to refund the money to the giftcards (GROUP A) I used to pay. The merchant asked me to contact me bank to dispute the charges for giftcards (GROUP A), but then the merchant refuse to refund when my bank sent inquiries.

    The customer placed 7 orders over a 2 day period that were all flagged in our system as fraudulent.  Half of the orders were for large amount gift cards that were then spent immediately (within minutes) after the purchases.  These orders were flagged as this is very unusual shopping behavior.  We made the business decision to cancel all of these orders as they were all very suspicious.  The customer filed 3 chargebacks which you can see in the screenshot above and the bank resolved the claims in his favor and he was refunded a total of $675.

    That's interesting.

    I bought gift cards on the merchant's website because the merchant offered discounts on gift card purchase. I paid in full for those gift cards.

    Then I used the gift cards to place orders on the merchant's website. Again, I paid in full if there was any deficit after the gift cards I used.

    After waiting for weeks, I had to contact the merchant regarding those orders. Then the merchant told me the orders were cancelled.

    Well, the merchant could just refund the balance to the gift cards I used (since I paid the orders with gift cards), everything would be settled. You cancelled the orders, so you should refund, right?

    Instead, the merchant did not refund me at all. That's why I need to contact my bank to file chargebacks. 

    Even my bank could not understand why the merchant did not just refund to the gift cards.

    The merchant thought it's fraud when customers use the merchant's own gift card to place orders.

    Doing business with the merchant is so funny.
