      A bill that I believe is not mine and when I call them to reach out all I get is the phone number you have dailed is not in service very aggravating I was told from a lawyer that the bill is from *************************************** 2017

      I reviewed this patient's account with our collection agency.  The collection agency contacted her.  Ms. ********* had a surgical procedure requiring anesthesia in 2017 that she now recalls having.  She agreed she owes the balance on the bill and agreed to a payment plan.

      On Feb 20, 2021 I had surgery at ***************************************************** in ********, **. Shortly thereafter, I received a billing statement from Commonwealth Anesthesia Associates for balance due. I immediately scheduled payment arrangements in the amount of $101.69 due on the 13th of each month. I've made monthly payments in the amount of $150 in an effort to resolve this debt. My current balance is $398. Instead of paying $150 for the month of March 2023, I've attempted several times beginning March 6 - March 18 to pay the entire balance of $398. Normally, I'm able to call in the payments, and receive a payment confirmation email; however there appears to be an issue with Commonwealth's phone service. When I call in, I'm placed on hold and no one ever comes on the line or I receive an automated message. Additionally, I've attempted to make the final payment on their website, however, there is something going with the site because I get an error message that "something went wrong try again." I would really like to resolve this debt but I don't want to take the risk of mailing the payment in until I am informed of what's going on with this company.

      I am the Director of *************** for Commonwealth Anesthesia Associates.  Upon receiving this complaint through the US ************** yesterday afternoon, I immediately contacted patient ************************* to explain and most importantly to apologize.  Our phone system has been down and callers have unfortunately been placed on hold indefinitely, with no opportunity to leave a message.  For several days each time we thought we had resolved the situation the system would reset itself and again revert to placing callers on hold with no option to leave a message.  We are still working to resolve the longer term issue but for the short-term we have arranged for callers to be immediately given an option to leave a message should their call not be answered, and we have had no problems since.  We are returning calls to patients who leave us messages as quickly as possible, typically within the hour. 

       ****************** and I had a pleasant conversation yesterday afternoon and she accepted my apology.  At her request, I then processed a credit card payment on her behalf for the entire account balance due.  It is unfortunate that this happened because ****************** has been a stellar patient and 100% diligent about making her payments on time every month.  Unfortunately our phone issues commenced right around the time that she would normally be calling us each month to make her payment.  I offered to send ****************** an itemized statement detailing the fact that her account has been paid in full and she accepted that offer.  I have both emailed a PDF of her $0 balance statement to the email address she provided me with and mailed a paper copy of her $0 balance statement to her home address.
