On April 26, 2023, ***************** of Against The Grain, **** began doing some home renovations. Before this date, he provided a Project Agreement Invoice with our discussed items. ************ wanted me to get all materials ahead of time. I begin ordering materials from ****** and *********** Several of my items were canceled and back-ordered. I needed a truck to pick up the materials I needed. ************ began getting an attitude, but I ignored it because I needed the work done. His first project was to install new laminate flooring in my main bedroom (upstairs) and my bathroom, kitchen, and dining room downstairs. I only realized once he was finished that ************ was cutting the laminate with his saw inside my house. By the evening, I was very ill due to the dust particles, etc. ************ also did not clean up any of his mess from sawing. Now I need to bring in a construction clean-up crew! As he continued through my list of projects, I became concerned because the quality of work could have been better and what I considered substandard for the amount of money I was paying. Examples include paint on door frames that were not supposed to be there, paint on new door hinges, cutting a hole in my shower, and leaving sawdust on the floor for me to clean up. So yesterday, I decided to send him notice in writing via email that I was not going to get him to paint my kitchen cabinets as I was very concerned about the quality of his work. He sent an angry response and did not show up today to finish the projects that he started, like cutting a hole in my ceiling and exposing lighting wires. Another project ************ was supposed to complete was staining, painting, and sealing my steps. I paid for this project, and he never finished the sealing part. Also, my efforts have to bleed through from the painting and stain. His work could have been better and more substandard. I do not want someone else to live my nightmare!
