Incident date: 12/20/2024 My son has been kicked out of his daycare because I questioned the director about an Evaluation I was given on my son. The director gave me attitude so I reached out to corporate/the owner. When I came to pick my son up in the evening. I was taken into a conference room to explain my concern from that morning. Upon explaining my concern. The owner responded that I intimidate the other people in the building and that I have cursed out the director and other people in the building. None of which happened. I asked if he had camera to prove this behavior and he said no. I have a personal relationship with my sons teachers; so I then called 2 teachers that were assigned to the classrooms my son has been in since he has been going there. They both said I never cursed them out before, we have a great relationship. Once the owner heard them on my phone he asked me to hurry up and get my son stuff and leave. There was also a road rage incident one morning that involved me and another person. The incident happen when I was on the way to drop my son off in the morning. As I was walking out the building I was confronted by another parent. I was confused at first until the parent said something that made things click in my head and I realized he was the other person from the road rage incident. I started to go off cursing and yelling telling him to stop talking to me. The owner brought this situation up during the meeting. I asked him if my son is being kicked out then are you going to kick the other child out, because that parent was the aggressor, that parent brought an outside issue into your facility. The owners response was no. I feel Im being discriminated against because Im black. The other parent is white. The director is white and the owner is white. My son only has 7 months left at daycare until he starts school. I would like him to be able to stay at his current facility.

The owner? What name was rendered as being the owner.  i AM THE OWNER together with my wife of almost 60 years and Today I function as always as the company's CFO and Secretary/Treasurer and my wife being the President.  I've not ever talked to anyone concerning what I just read - the complaint.  Our 7 schools are very professionally operated and what I read isn't convincing to me because I am the owner and have not had such conversations.

What I do know concerning racial charges being utilized by certain people is that if they do not get their attitude accepted it becomes "racial", especially if there is confrontation between "color" of skin differences.  Here, apparently a road rage incident continued on and confrontation took place.  Not the school's problem - what happens on the roads and the crazy stuff one observes from time to time speaks for itself - somebody creates the "road rage", the school is not involved regardless of opinions expressed without any evidence to prove anything except ones opinion not being accepted by another.  Perhaps an argument between two customers concerning their opinion of the other's driving manners? .

I've no use of personal atrtacks  that are recially motivated by the "attacker" - just because he/she is "black" doen't remove responsibilities to be honest and perhaps accept the fact that maybe just maybe a mistaken opinion arose from the confrontations concernng ones stated position on a matter.  That being the first cop-out every time, by such individuals, who have realistically nothing else to say or add.  End of their rope so to speak.

The "Parents Handbook", given to all new customers, is very clear about what is the protocol for dismissal, should that be necessary to be utilized to maintain safety of all concerned.  If a child is unwilling to behave and continues to be disruptive after proper stimulation is provided - the child is deemed a safety risk to all of the others concerned - including the teacher..  And it could be the childs own safety - depending on who is being bullied by the child or the child is bullying.  Kids do take up for themselves - believe it or not.

We have aproximately 200+- employees that are under Supervision of Directors of each school. The Directors seek assistance, if necessary, from our four executive administrators, of which two are our two sons,  We started this business back in the early 70's and have grown it to be the largest family owned Child Care provider in the Ricmond Metro area by being professional in our dealings with parents and providing excellently built and maintained facilities.

There have been situations where a child needed to be dismissed and was.  Not very many!  Every dismissal, to my knowlwdge, was due to the child's behaviour while enrolled in our facilities.  NOT, because of the color of the child's or its parent's skin.  That would be absurd on our part, as business owners, but not unexpected as noted earlier. We don't control the adopted attitudes of customers - we do our best to please them in their dealings with the school they've chosen to enroll their child to our care.
