Virginia Credit Union made a hard inquiry on my Eqifax credit report on 7/13/2023. I contacted VCU and filed a complaint with their fraud department. I was told **** business days it would be removed. I called back on 7/21/2023 for an update. It was at their fraud department. It was flagged and the applicant was told to come in person with a photo ID and mail to show proof of address Again, I told them this was fraud. On 7/13/2023 I filed a dispute with ****** who sent *** notification of fraud dispute. *** has not responded to ******* request. On 8/11 /2023 I sent *** a certified letter (attached) with a delivery confirmation date of 8/16/2023 (attached). Still no word from ***. On 8/29/2023 I filed a dispute with ****** and uploaded the certified letter sent to *** along with delivery confirmation. ****** sent *** a second notification to respond to dispute but no word from them as of 9/5/2023. I want *** to remove their hard inquiry from my Eqifax report. I did not initiate this request and I am a victim of identity fraud.

At 7:21 am on July 18th I attempted to use an *** at VACU to deposit cash. The *** took my money but didn't deposit the money or return it. I called as soon as they opened and was offered a credit. I went into the bank after getting off work because I saw no credit applied. It was then that I was told I needed to call someone because they don't handle that. Then I was told that the credit takes 24 to 48 hours to apply. And lastly I was offered to have the money withdrawn from one of my other accounts. It was during this visit to the bank that the teller also informed me that the *** has had a ticket called in since yesterday because it's been causing problems. I am out $190 and dealing with added stress and problems because VACU is operating negligently and in bad faith has offered no resolution. This is by no error of the customer. Why was I allowed to put my money into an *** they knew should have been closed down, and why hasn't my money been returned?

My name is ***************************** and I have a line of credit with Virginia Credit Union (VACU). my credit reports shows a late payment that is false on my credit report. I tried disputing several times with the credit reporting agencies but the late payments still remain. I have also disputed this late payment with Virginia Credit Union (VACU) and they did not fix the error in question. I have proof here that Virginia Credit Union bounced around this alleged late payment from February 2022 on Transunion and equifax to March 2022 on Experian I don't know what's going on but I demand this be fixed immediately. Im in the thought process of suing because as a result a few of my credit limits were cut down because of my credit score dropping I need someone to fix this fast I am very frustrated. Virginia Credit Union has no proof of this alleged late pay on my personal line of credit. Please fix this immediately.

I received three overdraft fees on my account on April 14, 2023. As I looked through my statements, even with fraudulent transactions on my account, the balance never dropped below $100. The company claims there were pending transactions that no longer show on the account that only they have the power to see. Most banks only charge for items that have posted or been returned and that can be proven as they still show up on your account statements. I believe this is an excuse this bank is using to steal money from its members.

Virginia Credit Union reported my LOC ****** payment 30 days late for ***** and June of 2022. These payments were originally reported on time, but within the last month (March 2023 )they updated the payments as late. I have had this issue with them before in 2015, when they reported a $6 fee 30days late. It was not 30 days late, but they refused to remove it. Now this. The payments reported late in ****************************** cash on the 27th of each month in question- the statements show this. Even the credit report states they were received on the 27th. This makes the payment officially 29days late (counting days in the calendar)not 30 days late. They were also made before the next payment due date on the 28th. These payments may be late, but not 30days late. Reporting this as 30 days late is inaccurate credit reporting and needs to be corrected. Credit Bureaus dont show accounts 29 days late, so that should not have been reported by ****. This is inaccurate and false reporting. 29 is not 30, its a fact. This has been an ongoing problem and if this is not removed from my report, legal action will be taken against VACU. A dispute has been filed with VACU and the credit bureau and I expect this to be resolved immediately.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

The payments reported as late were not 30 or 60 days late. The March payment was received with the April payment on April 27th, one day before the statement due date. The March payment was 29 calendar days late and April payment was on time.

The May payment was received with the June payment on June 27th, one day before the statement due date. The May payment was 29 calendar days late and the June payment was on time.

Neither the March or May payment was more than 29 days late and should not have triggered a late reporting with the credit bureau.

VACU reported these payments as on time when received in 2022 and waited nearly a year to change the reporting to late (April 2023).

They reported the payment as 30 days late with TransUnion and Experian and 60 days late with Equifax. Their reporting is inaccurate and inconsistent and needs to be corrected.

29 calendar days late being reported as 30 or 60 days late goes against the reporting standards of the credit bureaus. Its false and inaccurate.

All 3 credit Bureaus need to reflect the accuracy they did in 2022. These payments were not received 30 or 60 days late.

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the offer and/or response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

If the payment was received on the 30th day it is only 29 days late as payment was received on the 30th day, no longer making this account late. If the entire 30th day went unpaid, that would make it 30 days late. The account was reported on time for nearly a year, so it was obviously received in a manner that would not report 30 days late.

Also, the account was reported in these same date as 60 days late on Equifax. How is that accurate reporting? This still wasnt addressed.

Further, in retaliation for my complaint of reporting late, **** went back to 2019 and reported several more 30 days late. Now we have payments from 2019-2022 that were originally reported on time, now they are showing paid late. The went years as paid on time.

Because they were paid according to VACU terms of not reporting as long as the payment was received before the next statement due date these payments had been reported on time.

These additional late reports were simply reported late in retaliation. This is unacceptable.

I dont expect you to remove correct reporting, but these payments were reported on time for years, until VACU decided to change their policy and do so retroactively.

If I had known that the were to be reported late, I would have paid them a couple days earlier.

VACU is the only account that reports my payments late. In fact, my credit score was 805, before they reported all the late payments.

I have requested copies of statements from 2019, 2020, and 2021 so that I may review why these payments were reported late 4 years later. Since VACU retroactively reported these payments late, I can no longer access these documents online. They are refusing to send me these statements, unless I pay $2 per statement. If they are retroactively reporting late payments, then they need to send me the statements without a fee. They changed the reports and should provide me with the information for me to verify their information.

On March 11,2023 Virginia Credit Union engaged in unethical banking practices such as manipulating debit processing fees in order to net overdraft fees from me, their customer to gain profit.I was charged an excess of $175 in Overdraf fees. Currently, I do not have overdraft protection on my account so how is this possible? Since I have never opted in for overdraft protection, I expect all of these overdraft fees to be taken off my account. I also have screenshots because I have yet to have someone explain to me how all of the transactions that they claim I overdrafted were once pending waiting to be cleared the next day but they tagged on those fees on a Saturday nonetheless! When the Monday came in, my automatic payment which unfortunately came in before my pending check deposits, should have been the only thing returned since I never opted in for overdraft protection like I previously mentioned. However, when the Monday came, all of the transactions that were previously cleared or pending had cleared that Friday because I had the funds to cover them. Well, those transactions magically appeared as insufficient funds. How ironic and convenient for Virginia Credit Union. If this is not resolved in a timely and effective manner and I don't receive my "fees" as credit posted to my checking's account, I will continue to file the complaint and investigation that I have started with the *************** (FTC), the ***** the *** Consumer ************************* and submit it. All of this will be files because of this banks unethical bank operations based on my own personal account, Virginia Credit Union practices the unethical behavior or manipulating debit processing in order to net more overdraft fees from their customers and purposely taking too long to post payments and deposits to generate those fees for their profit and its unethical practices towards its customers bank accounts.
