    Richmond Times Dispatch has fraudulently charged my credit card. I was told by an agent that to avoid cancelling my digital subscription to the Richmond Times Dispatch that my credit card would only ever be charged $4.99 per month (No increases would ever apply to my account since charging me any more than this amount would cost the paper a digital subscriber. They charged me $4.99 per month until 2/13/25 when they charged me $15.68. I saw the charge getting ready to hit the account. Called them and went over it. they said there was nothing they could do. Now they refuse to refund the wrong amount charge because they are having server issues (which they've apparently been having for weeks and have no idea when they will ever be fixed. I should not have to pay this amount (or any interest that accrues on my credit card because of this fraudulent amount, but they refuse to fix it, blaming a server issue they also seem to refuse to fix.

    Just cancelled after subscribing to the print edition for over 30 years. Bill jumped to $370 per quarter (~$1400 per year). I was told rate increases happen regularly, and if you are a long time subscriber you likely are paying more than newer subscribers who come in at introductory rates. The irony of that.....

    I thought I purchased one article in November 2023. I have been charged every month since then despite calling, emailing, and disputing through Amex. No one ever answers the phone. Emails bounce back. No way to cancel online. Absolute fraud.

    This company continues to litter in my yard the Mechnicsville Local. Ive asked iTunes to stop delivering yet they continue to liter in my yard.

    they have been taking money out of my checking account since last OCT for service I never received which is email of the paper. I was getting the *************** paper and the *** and I call *************** paper and cancel out and was told they will cancel the *** at the same time. I called the *** office and ask why you are taking my money. Said I was getting the paper on the cpu. I have never received and such thing,I want my money back

    Rates increased from year to year, I stuck with it last year for $149. This year it jumped up to $263!!! with no advance notice or reminder!! That's a LOT for a retired person, especially at the end of the month. I called to complain, they're processing a refund. However, no refund seen after one week so called again, and it wasn't even noted! Started the refund process again, was told it will take 2-4 weeks. Then to actually CANCEL the subscription, I'll have to call again. Not Happy.

    I signed for a trial e-subscription. Cancellation has been a problem.Although the website and the recorded phone message states you can manage your subscription online - you cannot. You must call. When calling, you can select # for a call back- which does not come. This wastes your time and money which extends your subscription that you wanted cancelled. You can speak to a representative who does not live in the U.S. , and in this case did not understand my desire to cancel or reasoning for cancellation. After asking to cancel the e-subscription, the representative attempts to sell you three options so you will not cancel. I tried several RTD phone numbers, only to get recordings. I will encourage others not to subscribe to RTD due to poor communication and customer service. Questionable business practices. Disappointing for Richmond.

    They tried to increase my price from the previous amount , by almost double... I rarely use their site as is, so decided to cancel.. To cancel you have NO CHOICE but to call them - and be ready to be placed on hold for 40 or so minutes...... Yes, this is the ONLY way to cancel - so be warned.......When they finally picked up, they agreed to the old price. ( I was stupid and agreed) here I am, 3 months down the road, and they are trying again to raise it almost double !!!I am currently on Hold, with their very annoying music playing, waiting for them to pick up...... eventually ... and yes, this time, I will say NO to them.What a waste of my day off, listening to Times Dispatch background music.....If you have NO plans on paying almost double what you are now............ Do NOT join them,,,this all feels like a scam ! I have NEVER been asked to call a number to cancel, then be placed on hold for almost an hour !!!!TERRIBLE !!!!!is this even legal???????
