    Smartbox was referred to me by my son's college in South *******. They had an arrangement where they delivered and picked up the boxes so it seemed like a no-brainer. The box pick-up went smoothly. Getting the box returned was another story. The sub-contractor unilaterally decided to deliver some of the student's boxes on the day promised, while the rest of the boxes were delivered two days after classes started and four days after move-in. Since we are not from *******, as parents, we flew in with my son, who has some special needs, to help him set up. Knowing the box was going to be delivered late, we tried to make an appointment to get access to the box 48 hours ahead of time, but the hours of access were only **** am on a Saturday. Our flight landed at 11:30, and we were told they would not extend the hours to let us in. They were closed on Sunday and Monday. We tried to fly in earlier, but with only two days notice, everything was booked. Because of this unannounced late delivery, I was forced to extend my stay for two days, which involved extra expense for a loaner car and hotel. I also had to purchase items for my son, like a pillow, which was stored in the box. It seems that the sub-contractor is the source of the problem based upon my conversations with your customer service team, but as the parent company doing business with a lousy sub, you are at fault for this horrible, stressful experience. I will never use your service again, and I hope the school rescinds its relationship with your company.
