On Thursday, June 15, 2023, I was in ********, ** visiting family at ******************. At approximately 8:05 p.m., we received a knock at our door. When we opened it, it was my family's neighbor saying that our car was being told. At that moment, I thought that the neighbor was talking about my family's car (they are residents at that apartment complex). We went outside and realize that it my car was On Demand Towing was trying to tow. As I approached my vehicle, I realize that the equipment was not hooked to my car; it was just laying there to appear like he was going to tow it. I explained to **** that I was leaving and he said, "You have to pay me $50 to get your car back." I asked why do I have to pay you and not the company and he could not answer the question. I asked for a paper receipt and he said, I needed to call the company for a receipt. At that time, I did not have cash and he said, I could ******* him the money and I again challenged him on why I was paying him directly and not the company. None of this makes sense. I asked for the company's barcode to scan and pay them directly, he said he didn't know the information. **** also continued to get in my face and intimidate me. Of course, **** couldn't answer any of my questions. After I sent the money directly to him, he removed the items from under my car (which was not hooked on), and left laughing as though he knew he conned me out of money. The police was called but never showed up. And the receipt he emailed me has incorrect information about the cost.

On demand towing & recovery inc., are using unfair and deceptive practices while charging illegal fees for profit. On demand towing & recovery placed a boot on my car on December 21, 2022 in my mom's apartment complex (******* apartments) to which I had a parking pass in the window. The driver, who said his name was "Dre", stated that we needed to cash app him $50 in order to avoid being towed. On a recorded video, I have "Dre" calling a person who addressed him as her son saying that we would be sending a cash app to her. He gave us the cash app name $KeishaC01 to send $50 to. I called the facility the next morning on December 22, 2022 and spoke with "*****" who addressed himself as the towing company's owner. I questioned him about the fees and procedure in which he didn't have definite answers but mentioned that the fee was $150 to remove the boot at the scene or at the impound. I informed him that a driver took a personal fee that did not go to the facility or abide by the policy he described, and he said that unfortunately he would not refund me and that they did this routinely. He also mentioned that he had no record of the car or license plate on file, which further proves that my vehicle was booted off the record fraudulently for profit. The owner has declined to allow me any written copies of a company policy proving this transaction was common practice.
