I have had my vehicle at this vendors business for almost two years , September 2022 until July 9.2024.. To fix and replace the exterior and interior rust and dents along with leaks, of my 1983 Chev Blazer s-10 2.8L V-6 engine. The day I received my vehicle I notice that it was not clean under the hood nor clean on the inside of the vehicle interior. I could see dust and soot all over the dashboard and the backseats and side pandals. I mention to the owner concerning the soot under the hood and he used a rag or a cloth material and wipe top part of the engine but did not do a good job of getting it all done right. I notice a part of the exhaust missing from under the hood and brought that to his attention and he tried to subjust that I did not bring it in when I brought in in to his shop. Which is about the second or third time he has tried to accuse me of not bringing thing to the shop and is not missing. But , as he look or his staff look farest they found it somewhere else in the shop. He would always tell me he could not get something for my vehicle one week and several weeks later tell me something different. Like what he would charge me for getting the rust out of my vehicle and stop the leaking in my vehicle for me. He told me that he was going to take the rack that were on top of my vehice off because he could not find another one to replace it. But, when I ask him when I pick up the vehicle about the rack still being there. He stated," he decided to leave it there but he asured me that he sealed all the screwed so no water could get into the vehicle. Once , I picked up my vehicle within days from his business I esperienced leaking into my vehicle. Under my driver seat . I took my vehicle back to his shop and showed him. He did dry the water out for me. He had me bring it back so he could test the vehicle for leaks. He told me he found other leaks and fixed them when I pickup my vehicle. Now, my headliner is sagging/hanging.

On August 12, 2024, Mr. ******** came to the TCR office with a punch list of items that he would like addressed. Both Mr. ******** and Ralph (owner of TCR) signed the list. Mr. ******** had an appointment with TCR on August 19, 2024 to bring his vehicle in to have the repairs done from the agreed upon list that was signed by both of them. Mr. ******** never came in. On Sept 10th, Ralph called Mr. ******** to reschedule for his vehicle and Mr. ******** requested Ralph to send him a detailed list of what TCR was going to fix. This list had previously been drawn up and signed by both Mr. ******** and Ralph. As of this date, Mr. ******** has not called or come by with his vehicle.

Restoration of vintage vehicles is a very time consuming and labor intensive project. As well, some parts that are ordered for these vehicles can take a considerable amount of time to receive as the manufacturer will wait until they have a certain amount of orders to run particular parts. As well, any damaged parts or wrong parts sent, have got to be returned and/or reordered. Our customers have always been told up front that these projects have the possibility of taken a substantial amount of time.

I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I did receive a phone call from Mr. Ralph Thompson, last week.  He express interest into working with me with correcting all the issues that I agreed with him concerning the cleaning of the inside and under the hood of my vehicle the 83 chev blazer.  He ask me why I did not return the vehicle to his shop so he could work on the issues that we had agreed on.  I explained to him that I felt that he was not taking me serious enough in the past about what I wanted to have done with my vehicle. One issue was that he told me that he did not want to talk about the headliner on the blazer that was sagging.  He yelled at me several times in his office and outside his shop. Other, examples, was that he would tell me one thing one week and the next week something else was done or was not done because it was not written in advance .  So, I informed him that before I will be able to continue doing any further business with him it would have to be in writing  first of everything that we agreed on and who were going to pay for .  I  also, mention to him that there were other issues that I notice like rust under the back carpet of the floor board of my vehicle that was covered up with carpet and that I was not going to argue with him about each issue I would bring up  everytime I get to his shop.  I also explain to him that he charged me professional prices,so I should expect professional service as well.   He stated on the telephone that he would be happy to finish the job and will mail me in writing what I am asking of him.  He also stated ," that it may take a while because the letter is coming thru the mail.   P.S. This morning after the rain I check my vehicle and notice that my back seat floor board was damp as well from water along with carpet carpet coming loose from fold down seat.  All of this tells me that this vehicle was not given a good inspection before it left Mr. Ralph Thompson shop especially if he wants to consider himself a professional  and takes pride in what he does.
