Install new OEM parts provided by me. Rack and Pinion, Tie rod ends, Power steering pump, New fluid reservoir.
The mechanic gave me an initial price of $800. Considering I was providing the parts that was
consistent with most other repair facilities including dealer pricing. I agreed to having the repairs
done. He added that there was no warranty on the parts that I provided. Two days later I receive
a call stating that the power steering return line was bad. He stated that vehicle was on the lift and
needed to be completed. I asked how much? He says I’m not going to lie to you it’s going to be close to $400 and $100 labor. At that point I know the part is really not more than $100 but I need to get my car back and agree to get the job done.
When I picked up the vehicle it was making a loud squealing noise. I opened the hood to see what was going on and noticed power steering oil had been spilled all down the front of the pump. The
mechanic claimed that the rebuilt power steering pump had a bad bearing that was causing the noise and that was not their fault. At that point I said it was not rebuilt, it was new OEM. I left and on my way home all of my vehicle stability lights flashed on. I talked the mechanic about this and his claim was that I had a bad "Clock Spring" The real problem was he cleared my Zero point when he hooked up his OBD reader. Now I have to take it to Toyota and pay $100 to have it reset. After I got home and noticed that the oil had dripped on my serpentine belt and the power steering pump pully had been installed backwards. I had to replace the belt and pull the pully to turn it around correctly. This was a sloppy job that I paid a premium price and would like to see at least half of my money returned.

This guy was referred to us by a friend.  He brought in all his own parts except the high pressure hose and wanted us to replace them and we can't warrant parts bought by the customer.  He bought these parts on ****.  He would not let us diagnose the vehicle to see what the problem(s) causing the issues.  The cost he is referring to is for my part cost, labor and taxes.  We are not refunding him any money.
