      We hired Brown Edwards to assist our business with our taxes. The "advice" that they gave us ended up costing us tens of thousands of dollars in taxes that we should not have had to pay. Once we hired a new accounting firm they immediately advised us that we had been given bad advice and that we never should have been paying the taxes Brown Edwards advised us to pay. They were able to correct the issue with one simple form. Brown Edwards always waited until the day taxes were due to send us our proposed filings and then would rush us to hurry and file that day. This was an issue we brought up over and over and asked not to happen but it would inevitably happen again and again. They missed filing deadlines, they did not advise as to filing deadlines and/or insure that deadlines were met - leading to penalties being assessed. When I questioned them about whether we should be filing to comply with deadlines they would advise no and then tell us well you have penalties because you missed a deadline months later. **** ***** was horrible to work with. I have email after email where he would tell us one thing and then months later tell us something completely different that cost us money we should never have had to pay. When questioned about it later he was condescending and would take no responsibility. He had an accountant working under him on our account who abruptly quit and I highly suspect it was either because he was messing up accounts like ours or because he couldn't take the unethical behavior of this firm. In either case we also suffered the consequences of having the person over our account quit abruptly and there was absolutely no consideration given for that or for the numerous things we were told that were wrong that costs us thousands and thousands of dollars. Then they sent us a $14k bill for having hardly any advice, wrong advice and last minute filings nearly every time that left no time for actual review of the filings.

      I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

      I have contacted the business to attempt to discuss this matter and have not yet received a response.  In further reviewing my billing I am seeing that I have been charged for things such as "lobbying and gift buying"  which I never had anything to do with and other fraudulent charges. I completely reject the business' response as they are doing nothing to correct their fraudulent billing.
