      On 05/06/25, I took my 2003 Chev P/U odometer ****** to Hylas Tire *************************************************************************, requesting they address the check engine light which was on and conduct the state safety inspection on my truck. I picked up my truck that day and was informed of diagnostic code PO446, they replaced the vapor canister vent valve and completed the inspection, the engine light was off, and I paid $346.02. The following morning, May 7, the check engine light was back on. I immediately drove to Hylas Tire and spoke with ****** at the counter, explaining the situation. The mechanic came out and told me that he had removed the vapor canister, no debris was seen, but since there was debris in the valve, he replaced that. He further advised that I should take my truck to a Chev dealer since they could be more specific on the engine light issue. Hylas Tire did not offer any refund or reduced charge should they replace the actual vapor vent canister and I did not request anything from them. On 05/23/25, I took my truck to **** ******** Chevrolet ********************************, in order to address the check engine light. My truck odometer read ******. ******** ********* diagnostic also indicated code PO446, Evap System performance, and FURTHER NOTICED THAT THE **** HOSE TO **** CANISTER WAS NOT INSTALLED. Discussion with the service tech stated it was apparent that Hylas Tire failed to properly reconnect the evap hose to the vapor vent canister when he removed it, thus exposing the canister to the elements which required replacement costing $1093.49. On 05/20/25, I texted ****** at Hylas Tire advising that they had failed to reconnect the evap hose to the canister causing failure which necessitated replacement at $1090. I stated as a reasonable compromise, in good faith he should refund me the $326.20 for the valve replacement and that I would reluctantly pay the $1090 to properly repair my truck. ****** at Hylas Tire has not responded.

      Tuckahoe Tire has closed their shop on ********************************** and I took my truck to another one of their locations operating under the name of Hylas Tire & Automotive, located at **************************************************** **************, possible email address: ********************************************************************.

      Dear Mr. ***************************** apologies for your inconvenience however, Hylas Automotive was unaware of the issue with your 2003 Chevrolet Truck until June 10, 2025 upon receiving complaints from BBB. Unfortunately the text system is a 3rd party automated service that is unable to receive incoming calls or texts. The automated system states, please contact us for assistance at ************.

       

      Since receiving complaint I, **** Teague have left two messages at phone number provided with my personal cell phone number. I have also sent an email to the address you provided & it was returned : UNDELIVERABLE. 

       

      I would be happy to discuss the matter & find a happy resolve for all.
