    Paid a site fee of 5000.00 for a wedding in March 2023. The wedding was cancelled. The contract we signed indicated we get a refund if the venue books the same date and by their own admission they have rebooked for May 4 2024 and despite many emails and calls and Glencliff saying they will refund the site fee. They even took my address to mail the check. They have not refunded and have stopped returning phone calls and emails.

    We have informed Ms **** on several occasions that as soon as we receive the payment from the new couple that has booked the May 4th , 2024 date that we will immediately return her payment. At this time we have not received this payment. We have been trying to get in touch with the new couple for May 4,2024 and are getting no response. We will continue to try to contact this couple and as soon as we know anything we will let Ms **** know.

    I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
    I do not agree with the business response.  Glencliff requires a contract and has indicated they rebooked the venue and I was due a refund upon the rebooking.  My refund is not contingent on whether the other party followed through on their contract.  The contract states I am due a refund once the venue is rebooked.  Glencliff indicated months ago the venue was rebooked.  I would like my venue/site fee back.  I actually paid the site fee under great pressure last year from this business to get the venue when I didn't have to pay the fee until 60 days from the wedding (which I didn't know until the business disclosed this during this dispute).

    I have attached a copy of the same site rental that was signed by ******* **** on2/26/2023 . At the time of signing ******* paid the 500.00 deposit by credit card which was all that was required. Please note on page 2 , paragraph 4 that the balance of the site fee is not due until 90 days prior to the event. At no time did I, nor anyone representing Glencliff Manor contact any one to say that the site fee was due. I don't know if the bride, ******* , sent her copy of the site rental  to ******* or not . Had they reviewed the contract they would have seen that it was not due at that time. We will be sending a refund to the client as soon as we receive payment from the current couple on that date.
