    Lucky cat in Salem, Virginia used to be called ***** ****. They changed ownership at least 2 years ago but were still selling their gift cards that had ***** **** printed on the front. My daughter was given a gift card in August of 2023 . The receipt has lucky cat printed across it. We tried to use the gift card on 6/29/2024. The owner loudly and rudely refused to accept it, even when we had the proof of purchase in our hands. They claimed that they did not own the business in August of 2023. That's not true though - when we were there with friends around that time the same owners were there and had their small children running in and out from the back of the restaurant. Those same children were there on 6/29/24 when we tried to redeem the card. They are the same family that ran the place in 8/2023, I guess they are just selling the gift cards with the old logo so they can claim that since they now have a different name, they don't have to honor the gift cards. Sadly, this is why we always keep receipts of gift cards, but in this case it's still did not help. It seems like a gift card scam to me and I informed the local chamber of commerce and police department but did not get any assistance. I hate for this to keep happening to others as well.
