I used ***** ******* to list my home. My intention was to sell my house in Suffolk, Virginia and move BACK to Texas. I stayed in ******* in Dallas/Fort Worth for 2 months (April 8 - June 10) while my house in Suffolk was on the market. There were several execution fumbles by ***** that caused me to withdraw the listing. Nevertheless, I'm trying to move on, but before I do there are some outstanding issues and I'm not getting any satisfaction from ***** ******** 1) He scratched my furniture and isn't taking responsibility for it. 2) He gave key access to my house to his handyman, **** ***** to do some work. The two of them were in my home as I drove off to Texas. Mr. **** was given ******** lockbox access to my home at other times. The work wasn't properly completed. I didn't know that, but since part of ***** ********** sales pitch is his former experience as a contractor, I assumed he would verify the work was done to at least the satisfaction of a prospective buyer. When he told me the work was done, I paid the handyman he brought to the table. "I can't expect the handyman to wait until I return to be paid in full. He's running a businees, not a charity. ***** says the work looks good. He apparently works with this guy a lot, and ***** wants to sell the house, too," I thought. So I paid the Mr. **** the remaining balance. I felt a gentleman's obligation to do so. This is what I came home to: *************************************************************************************************************************************************** Mr. **** blames me for it looking that way and wants to charge me more to fix it. ***** ******* is hands off. His lack of execution with these two items is indicative of his execution that couldn't get me one offer to consider in 60 days during what was mostly a sellers' market, even in Virginia. I need help resolving these two things, so I can move on.

    Business Response

Business Response /* (1000, 8, 2022/08/02) */ At this point, i cannot respond to homeowner's complaint. I cannot access the contents of attachments.zip. I am able to access ******** Also, I cannot access "gmail crack repair" Please mail the contents of these attachments to: Rowe's Home Improvements *** Lane ******** ********** *** XXXXX Consumer Response /* (3000, 10, 2022/08/04) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I am not satisfied with the response. *** does say you may need Adobe Reader and/or Winzip to read the files. If he's trying to access these things only from a mobile phone, he will likely have trouble. He needs to consider using a computer or downloading appropriate apps that will allow him to view the items. Requesting the items to be physically mailed to him is indicative of his substandard service and lack of seriousness. He's saying it's ****** fault that he can't read the attachments, just like he said it was my fault that his work was lousy. I have made him aware of my complaint. He is stalling. See the additional attachment entitled "Gmail - Painting Estimate from Rowe's Home Improvements." That was the last email I sent him, and it is dated July 21, 2022. That was 2 weeks ago today. I sent it to both of his email addresses, and I never got a response. Business Response /* (4000, 14, 2022/08/14) */ In response to consumer's complaint. Mr. ******* and myself both were there when we both recommended that he paint the entire walls where the repairs were to be made. He said he had the paint and that wasn't necessary. The paints he had did not match. I bought paint, at my expense, to try to match. It is hard to match paint with plaster because you cannot peel enough plaster off to be able to color match. Plaster only flakes off. You need about a minimum of about a square inch to color match. As far as the cracks. I repaired all the cracks that were noted during walk through with Mr. ******** The consumer had the opportunity to walk through with us to note any that may have been missed. He did not walk through with us. He did note 1 crack in front left bedroom closet later on that I addressed (repaired crack and painted). Oher then that, he did not note any other repairs. When meeting with him after his return from his trip, I did agree to go back over repair in living room that he noted at no charge. I also agreed to repair the cracks he noted "at no charge" even though, those cracks were not there at original walk through. Note that it was over a month since I had done the repairs and in that time the house continues to settle and wood continues to move due to expansion and contraction possibly causing cracks. Which is possibly the reason for the cracks in the first place. I would not go and repair 2 cracks in the master bedroom and leave 2 more when I have my ladder and tools out in the first place. Same goes for the room over the garage. As per proposal #2805 I would go and paint 2 walls at cost and the price of the paint. Since he did not have the paint as originally agreed upon. At the time that we met, he noted only the repair in the living room, the cracks in master bedroom and room over garage. The only other thing he mentioned was the repair to the door leading to deck. As per invoice #2056 he was only billed for replacing brick mold over top of door. Which I did. He insisted that there was nothing wrong with the rest of the door and did not want to be charged for any additional repairs. As a matter of fact, he questioned rather or not the top piece of brick mold was rotted. Consumer Response /* (4200, 16, 2022/08/16) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I am not satisfied with this response. Rather than a resolution, excuses are being proposed by Mr. ***** I did say the paints I have are in the garage. Neither ******* nor **** recommended that entire walls be painted. And I never said don't paint an entire wall. Like any owner of a house worth over ********* I wanted a finished product. Why would anyone want what Mr. **** left on my walls? ******* story about master bedroom vaulted ceiling cracks is changing. In June, he told me ******* said to only address 1 of the 4 corners. Now he's saying what he addressed is showing signs of cracking one month later because a 17 year old house moves that much in 1 month. **** seems to paint the picture (pun not intended) that I was disinterested in a walkthrough to discuss repairs. I interviewed 8 agents to list my house. They all had different strategies on what they thought needed to be repaired in advance or not in order to list the house. I was interested, and I let my agent, ******** take the lead and guide **** on what he thought needed to be addressed in order to list the house. Nevertheless, there was nothing written, said, nor implied that I would be okay with what you can see in the photos. The patio door is new. It was installed in the spring of 2018, and by photos, I can barely tell the before from the after. Whatever **** is trying to say, it barely even looks like he painted the area. **** never offered to redo any repairs at no charge. I even have an email from him estimating a charge to fix his work. If I haven't uploaded that email and its attachment, I will do it now. I don't want to pay again to have work redone by anyone, especially **** whose attitude was and continues to be to blame me for his work. He should be humbled and embarrassed. He isn't.
