    The contractor was hired 9/4/2023 to install a vinyl fence with one gate for $3800. I paid a 50% deposit on 10/3/23. I went into the hospital the next day for emergency surgery. The contractor texted me for the remaining funds on 10/6/23 while I was still in the hospital. I sent him the balance that day. I didn't see the fence until I was discharged on Saturday 10/7/23. I returned home to find that my fence didn't have a gate. I texted to ask where the gate was and the contractor said it was on backorder. I had already paid in full, even though the contractor knew there was no gate when he texted me asking for the balance.Pieces of a gate were delivered 3 wks later. It came without a latch. The contractor installed the gate without the latch while I was at work. He returned a third time on 11/9/23 to install the wrong latch. By 11/16/23, the fence was falling over, I couldn't use the gate, and he hadn't responded to any of my text messages about the corrections that needed to be made. I sent another text 11/27/23 trying to get him to come and fix the issues. He didn't respond. I sent another text 12/9/23 asking for him to fix the issues. I finally got him to come out 12/16/23 to fix the crooked gate and leaning fence posts. He pulled out the fence post concrete and threw the broken pieces in the field behind my property. The concrete he pulled out was not replaced. I sent a text asking for him to come and get the broken pieces. He never responded. On 4/12/24 I sent a text telling him the fence was falling over and the gate was no longer functional (could not open or close it). I let him know I hired another contractor to fix it and wanted my $3800 refunded. He refused. He wanted to come out again to fix it. I told him he had plenty of opportunity to do the job correctly. I sent another video 4/26/24 showing the fence falling over and the gate not working. He tried to say I did something to it because it worked fine in December.

    My fence was continuing to fall down. I could not wait any longer for a resolution, so a contractor was hired to fix it.  Only one post had a support post inside and only one of the post holes had cement in them. Because the entire fence was out of square, it had to be taken apart, posts installed and reset with concrete, and each panel rebuilt. Please see attached invoice for my costs for the repairs/rebuild.
