    Six months ago, my wife and I got a bill for 867.00 for electrical work which was supposed to have been done over a year before (I didn't keep exact dates because it wasn't done). We ignored it because the work was never done; instead, we'd made a verbal agreement with them to do the work--2 light fixtures and substantial wiring involving 8-10 plug fixtures which they estimated at about that price. The worker came for 1 morning, worked about 2 hours, put in the easier of the 2 lights and 2 plugs, then never returned and didn't pick up--ever--when we called his cell number he'd left with my wife.
    We figured they'd bailed on the work and that was why we never got billed--until over a year later.
    Then last week we get a letter from them threatening to serve us with a warrant in debt if we don't pay the bill. I sent off the payment that day. The check has now been cashed.
    I called Mr. Brumbaugh directly and he promised to make it right and to not send the "warrant in debt."
    I've never heard back, and the "warrant in debt" arrived today--after he'd cashed our check--for work never finished and scarcely begun.
