i got a koi fish tattoo from the her (***** ******) while she was working with exquisite ink on */20/24. this tattoo took two sections and is located on my left forearm it cost me $350. she told me first touch up is free anything after that i would have to pay for. i asked for my first touch up on 5/8/25 and she told me i would have to pay $1-120. i rescheduled another tattoo appointment with her 12/5/24 and was quoted $650 . i ended up having to reschedule with grace * different times on her end. i also had to pay double the amount of deposit ($50) because of it. she refused to give me my deposit back after she had to reschedule me. i decided to continue to try and schedule wit her only because i had already sent $100 for a tattoo i never received and still have yet to received. i have heard multiple complaints from different people about ****** she also got fired from exquisite ink because she would constantly reschedule her customers. she is now doing tattoos in her home (*********************************************************************************************) she does not have a business license.

    Business Response

    Date: 05/24/2025

    To whom it may concern:

thank you for making me aware of this matter, though I am somewhat taken aback by this notice. I will attempt to represent my side of the matter truthfully and concisely.
I was an apprentice at Exquisite Ink located in *************, **. The shop owner was ***. ****** came into the shop and was given a koi fish tattoo quoted $350 on 7/20/24. She was told the first touch up was free, understanding based on requesting if needed within a reasonable amount of time. It was not requested until almost one year had passed- May of 2025. Prior to this appointment in December of 2024. Still with no request of a touch up ****** messaged me about a new design idea she had and would like to have drawn. (Virtually) we met at my boyfriends residence (******************************************************) and discussed the design, along with me getting measurements to make sure it fit her desired area. A $50 charge was paid and the design was offered to her, she declined. She did pay an additional $50 to schedule. In the meantime in mid December of 2024, I was told by *** at Exquisite via email that he had noticed I was no longer happy working there and I could work until the end of December 2024. The truth was he was closing that shop on Main st. Stephens city and relocating to warrior *** ********************* and did not wish to take me with him. That was fine, I paid all of my taxes and reported my earnings but as I aged I realized I was taken advantage of as a new artist and became more vocal about it. I was not fired as stated.

i loaded my equipment the end of December 2024 and left the shop. *********** and myself BOTH rescheduled during this time. In my part due to my step fathers cancer diagnosis where I was needed by family to assist with 24/7 care until his recent passing and whatever the matters were on her end. Again both of us.

Until my step fathers diagnosis I had believed I would be in another shop completing my licensing requirements and we could work it out there, but the last six months were too hard to think about that. Also to clarify, none of my former clients have spoken ill of me to my knowledge and cant wait for me to be in shop accepting appointments again. However *** and another employee have spoken poorly in regards to me, if ************ has spoken with them on several occasions, they should address her concerns with the koi tattoo $350 since it was obtained in the original shop and part of her grievance. (All my earnings were split 50% 50% with shop owner ***)

After my step fathers memorial service this weekend which I have been planning, I will explore my options further to finish my licensing requirements and decide business options. I am currently looking into business requirements in this area.

In regards to Ms.Mcfarlanes monetary remuneration, I am willing to refund her $100 fifty for the appointment error, and fifty for the design which with the understanding the design becomes mine to use as I wish.
The touch up of the initial koi tattoo should be addressed to Exquisite ink.

    Sincerely,

    ****** ******
