I attended an auction at the ******************* Exposition Center on October 2, 2022. During that auction, I purchased a diamond ring for $23,434.13. The ring is a complete fraud. It is clarity enhanced, which means it was tampered with and essentially worthless. They also provided me with a supposed *** Certification, which was completely false. I got the ring re-appraised and learned it is a fraction of the value I was initially told. Now that I have tried to resell the ring, it is not resaleable because it was clarity enhanced.Initial Complaint

Gentle people:
I am counsel to Heritage Auction Solutions (“Heritage”). Thank you for writing and providing Heritage with information from the above-referenced Complaint made by ***** **** ******** to the Better Business Bureau about Heritage.
You have asked Heritage not to include “any information that personally identifies your customer.” Our response below, therefore, simply refers to *** ******** as “the Customer.”
The Customer is well known to Heritage. He was an attendee and a buyer at an auction that Heritage held in Denver, Colorado in February 2023. He has since made threats against our firm. It’s unsurprising to us that he would write to the BBB. His complaint is completely unfounded, his statements are false, and his report is simply baseless and an effort to harm our reputation. The wording of his complaint and its lack of detail should make that clear. We believe that we know the reason he made a complaint to the BBB.
The Customer stated to Heritage employees at the Denver auction that he works in the cannabis industry in Colorado, where cash earned from cannabis sales cannot be deposited in federal banks. He made an extremely large purchase at the Heritage auction. The amount of his purchase was $95,100.00, paid all in cash. That kind of transaction is very unusual and requires Heritage to file an IRS cash receipt form to the US Treasury. The Customer, however, left the auction, we believe deliberately, without providing his required information for Heritage to make the statutory filing. We also believe that it was his intention for his cash transaction to go unreported. That is against the law. Heritage is always strictly compliant with IRS Regulations whenever large cash purchases are made. Heritage filed the required IRS Form.
The Customer is now very angry at Heritage because there is a legal matter ongoing. He has used the Complaint to the BBB to express that anger.
Please let me know if you require any further information to help you understand the true basis for the subject Complaint.
Respectfully,Customer Answer

I hope this helps at least one person not get scammed by these seasoned con artists. On Oct 9th of last year, I saw a sign that got my attention for an auction of Government seized goods. When I walked into the ballroom area there were people already waiting & soon enough they started ushering everyone in through their check in process. They required a valid ID & gave their waiver on their “auction” rules & terms of service. There was no auction number, and the auctioneer never announced his auctioneer license number, which is illegal in the state of Texas and these numbers must be on all paperwork including their terms of service & invoice, etc. - which makes this whole set up a scam from the get go. In this now deleted post that I will link to the archive, this person masterfully details the same experience I had, except his purchase was a fake rug. Here is the link to the archived post: Part 1 *************************************************************************************************************************************************************** * **************************************************************************************************************************************************** *** * ******* / appraiser in Texas that has worked with the *** & is considered an expert in the field of counterfeits, to take a look at the watch I purchased and had validated I was scammed, and that the appraisal that accompanied my watch is full of lies, and I'm out of nearly $14k.Heritage Auction Solutions responded with another fake letter from the same "appraiser" saying the watch is real. Ridiculous. There is also a podcast about this scam from this company called "***** * **** *****" on ******* .Please be aware of this traveling auction scam as Heritage Auction Solutions is one of the many aliases they operate under.Customer Answer

We purchased two luxury watches for the total price of $26,268.13 including fees, tax, etc. The watches were sold as two Rolex watches along with appraisals. The two watches are not authentic and we have made several attempts to reach out to the company, the appraisers, etc. I believe the entire operation is a scam and I would like to be refunded. I will also return the fake items if they want them. They sold us counterfeit goods.Customer Answer

I purchased a watch in an auction on 9/18. Their terms were that all sales are final. The watch had an appraisal that stated it was valued at $30,780. It mentioned it has custom ***** bracelet with Diamonds, etc. I wasn't given the option to touch or feel the watch before I bought it. After I bought it, I noticed that the watch was not working and that the crown to update the time is fragile. I didn't want to use it because I was afraid of breaking it. I took it to an authorized watch dealer the next day and they said it was not a genuine *****. I called the auction company and they said that because it had after market parts, ***** won't service it. I took it to another watchmaker who inspected and told me that all the parts except for the movement were not *****. Also, the movement is so old that it is no longer serviceable. The auction company is willing to refund me the 15% seller premium and the sales tax they charged me. However, I am willing to accept it. In reality, they sold me a junk watch.Initial Complaint

Heritage Estate Solutions held an auction on Monday September 5, 2022 at The ************ Hotel in Franklin, TN. The piece of Art that I purchased was represented as an original hand signed lithograph and very very valuable. The piece of art has a certificate of Authenticity on the back with an address and phone number. They started the bidding at $25,000. A person offered $1,000 and the final bid by me was at $7,000. They do add a 15% Buyers Premium which came to $1,050 and also Sales Tax which came to $784.88. The Grand Total was $8,834.88 I took the piece of Art in to be Authenticated and it is indeed a Fake. The signature is printed. The Certificate of Authenticity is from a company that doesn't exist and the phone number leads to nothing. I've tried to call the phone number from the signs they placed all over the City the next day on September 6th and the number has been disconnected. Upon doing research into this Company there are Multiple complaints (even with the Better Business Bureau) that this company sells Fakes and they misrepresent their goods and essentially take advantage and lie to the consumer. The piece that I purchased is worth $400 at most. I would very much appreciate your help in resolving this matter. I do not think this company is licensed to do business in Tennessee and therefore shouldn't be charging Sales Tax either. I would like to give them their misrepresented fake Art piece back and get a full refund. Can you help me with this? I hope so. Thank you for your time attention into this matter. I truly appreciate it.*********************** *********************** Franklin, TN.**********. ***** **************Initial Complaint
