    On July 24, 2024 Gals with a Pickup LLC committed to come, prep & paint 11.5 x 18’ living room with 1 large picture window, 1 regular window, & 3 doorways which decreased the linear surface to 182’. Judy & ******* ***** arrived on time. We spoke casually about moving the furniture away from walls, covering the surfaces to prevent splatter on belongings. Judy suggested priming the small areas I had prepped & patched previously. Even with Rheumatoid Arthritis I assisted them moving furniture, taking all items off & in display cases & on tables & surfaces. ******* pulled hangers from wall that held art which opened gouges in the wall. The gals decided they BOTH had to go to ********** *** ******** 5 min away to obtain some”special fast drying plaster powder” even though I had premixed patching plaster that would have been adequate for the purpose.
    Before they returned Judy texted me
    “ There is no way to do this job without moving all the furniture to the middle fixing the holes and painting all the ceiling before starting on the walls.”
    Since we had already discussed it and I had approved as parts of a typical painting job. To help them out I moved small items to the middle of the room.
    However, when they returned, Judy started repeating the prepping sequence. I didn’t understand why. Then she as looking around at this small living room with all the furniture and belongings in the middle of the room and started talking about needing more people. My thought was how are you going to get more people in here? And why would you need more than the 2 or 3 or us to complete the job?
    I said I can’t see how you need more people. I finally figured out they had no intention of doing anymore that day. For clarity I said “so bottom line you don’t plan to do anything today.” At which point she got huffy and said “I don’t think we can work together.” She ordered ******* to pack up their things. They left heavy furniture & all belongings in middle of room for me to deal with.

    This client had unreasonable expectations for my services. They demanded that I provide free furniture moving services and attempted to coerce me into doing a subpar painting job by using only one coat of paint without primer. When I refused to comply, they became hostile and threatened to leave a negative review. Despite their harassment and attempts to discredit my business on social media, I stand by my decision to prioritize quality and professionalism in my work.
