    Buyer beware - Renew Energy did not pay their roofing subcontractor (Roof Masters) resulting in a mechanic's lien being placed on my home. Renew Energy was paid for their solar panel install but failed to pay their sub. Roof Masters made several attempts to collect payment from Renew Energy before placing the mechanic's lien on my home. Twice I was told that Renew Energy had paid Roof Masters only to follow up and be advised that payment had not been received. Although Roof Masters was eventually paid, and the lien released, it had a negative impact to my federal security clearance, my reputation, and is now a permanent part of my clearance file. Robert ******** (Renew Energy Owner) was aware of this personal impact did not even that the time to contact me directly to apologize for the situation. What started out as positive interaction with Renew Energy has concluded with me being a very disgruntle customer.

    I am sorry we didn’t live up to your expectations. I was at your initial appointment with your sales representative. Although I was not directly working on your account, I am the owner of the company and take full responsibility for the situation.
    We did provide you our Best Value Guarantee which is below our published pricing. We also removed your old solar heaters, corrected errors of a previous roofer, and paid for the corrective measures without a change order or change in price to the original agreement. In addition, we sent our SRECs specialist to your home after receiving Permission To Operate to ensure you were signed up for the VA state incentives for solar.
    Yes, there was an error regarding the roofing contractor hired, and once I was informed by the sales representative, the bill was paid. We now provide in house roofing to eliminate this problem in the future.
    I have sent a letter of explanation to your company and apologize for the frustration I have created for you. Unfortunately, due to our very low margins, I am unable to compensate you further, as you requested. Thank you for the feedback, so I can improve my leadership and management of our company.
