Our backyard was a disaster! We had had sod installed several years ago by a different company, but a large swath of it succumbed to a fungus, and we could get no help from the folks that installed the sod. We had huge issues with standing water and drainage, so we called Dr. Dan's. Danny came out and we walked through what we wanted (dry wells and new sod) and he made recommendations for how to do it to achieve maximum drainage, as well as the optimum timing for installing the sod. His crew came out in the late spring, leveled a large mound of dirt and installed three dry wells in our yard. Danny had recommended we wait until the fall to install the sod since the weather had started to get very hot. Best move we could've made! It was so hot this summer that there is no way the sod would have survived. We added another dry well and the guys came out to install the sod in mid-September. Today, we're feeling the impact from Hurricane Ian, and yes, there is standing water in the yard, but when the rain stops, the water will be gone in a matter of hours or certainly within a day. The sod is looking good and is starting to root and establish itself. From the first day until the completion of the project, it was a great pleasure to work with Dr. Dan's crews, with Danny himself and with the support staff in the office. They recommended a couple of other craftsmen that they work with for some other work I needed done, and I was super happy with that outcome as well. Danny's crews were all professional, hard-working and very pleasant to have on my property: they arrived on time, worked hard and left things in very good condition. If I could give them 10 stars, I would! I highly recommend these folks for any landscaping and outdoor projects!Dr. Dan's Landscaping & Architectural Design

My front yard had gardenia and holly bushes that were out of control. It was really hard for me to keep up with trimming. Lorraine suggested taking the bushes out and putting more low maintenance plants in. I originally called them because I wanted a ring around the tree in the front yard and to get a pergola built in back yard. After much thought on the idea, I decided to go ahead with that also. I am so glad I did! It is beautiful! Chris and the guys worked in the extreme heat and did a fantastic job. The tree ring around the crêpe myrtle looks so much better than what I had there. My front yard is the envy of the neighborhood. The pergola built in the backyard over the stamped concrete patio, also done by Dr Dan's, looks great. It will be nice to have some shade. Everyone I dealt with from this company was very professional and didn't mind answering my many questions. Outstanding service 5 stars and counting. What a great experience beginning to end. Lorraine was the first rep from Dr. Dan's to come out and get an idea of what we wanted. She was very pleasant and easy to work with, we wanted a Pavilion and Pergola combo installed over an existing patio, and I believe she worked very hard to give us the design we wanted at the best price as she mentioned a few times during the planning how to save ourselves money. Then Dan, the owner came out (the first of eight visits) to go over the plans and refine then. He was thinking about things I hadn't even thought about and I'm so happy he did. Dan would bring out his Crew leads Carpenters and Masons and explain to them everything we had talked about so we were all in agreement on the design. The Carpenters Jake (J), Ken and Lenny did amazing work, despite the heat in the middle on July reaching over 100 degrees on most days. The quality of work was above anything I have seen. The quality of the wood, the sturdiness of the structure and crews professionalism while doing of the work. Truly these guys are masters of their Trade. Then came the patio trim work. I asked Dan for a favor of Dan which would require him to expedite the work to done by a certain date to support a birthday day party, knowing I might be putting Dan in a tough spot. But like everything else, Dan's concrete Lead Gabrielle sent his crew out and like the carpenters, they too were a well-oiled machine and went to work using a quick dry cement to get the patio work done, which included stamping a pattern and sealing the cement. It was unbelievable, every time I thought they were done they just kept making it better. The overall experience was great. I had never spent this much on a home renovation and was nervous what I would get based on my past experience's. But now that it's done I feel like I got a great deal. Our front deck was over twenty years old and showing its decline. Dan's guys came and rebuilt the deck to our specifications and added features such as setting the benches in a way that gave us more room than the original floor plan. They also added an easy accessible door to provide a way to check for termites and other pests. Excellent craftsmanship from Jay and his crew!Dr. Dan's Landscaping & Architectural Design
