    My brother who is on full disability applied for an apartment managed by Stone and Browning. He asked me to be a 'co-signer'. Before he could let me know that they had declined him for the apartment I had submitted my application and paid the $25 fee that they state is for the background check. They told my brother that my application wouldn't have helped his situation, because he had a past eviction. When I called to get my $25 refunded, I was told flatly no. I requested a copy of my background check then and was told that they wouldn't be processing my application nor running a background check. Yet my $25 will not be refunded. Nothing for something? Doesn't seem right.Also, I question whether discrimination is at play here. My brother's past eviction happened due to his declining health for which he eventually was able to get full disability status. Mitigating circumstances at the time included being in the middle of the pandemic and his building being sold to new owners. To me this smells like rotten unethical business practices.

    I graduated trade school with an accredited degree and was told I did not make enough to even qualify for their overpriced apartments, even though I would consistently make enough to pay rent. Anyone who knows anything about ******* realizes people are living tight right now. Straight up inner city gentrification mindset here. These people are clowns. Rent from a real Vermonter, who has ******* values and the people first not just greed fueling their every decision.
