    I contracted with ******************************* of Mountainside builders last August after actually finding him here on the BBB website of all places, to build an addition to my home at ***********************************************************************. I therefore assumed he could be trusted. Within a couple weeks of the start of the project after the foundation was poured, *************** shut the project down because he was building in the right away of their transmission lines using a site he preferred. That should have been the end of my engagement with him, though we continued conversations about other locations for the addition. In the meantime, ****** delayed until winter came, still holding my $60,000 deposit. Finally, a couple months ago I asked for my deposit back and cancelled the project due to losing all faith in his professional abilities. I've been met with increased avoidance of communication with a total silence in the past two weeks. I've texted, called, And left voicemails multiple times and have heard nothing. I would like to get my $60k back and deal with the foundation he put into the power company right away.

    I have gotten one vague reply the builder, ******, after multiple attempts to reach him by phone and text.  The vague text was in response to me considering taking legal next-steps. I was given a  vague excuse about his "accountant being out of town", with a vague statement about not knowing how long it will be until he can get my $60K deposit back to me.  A month has now passed since the project was canceled and I requested my deposit back.  That is the only communication I have heard from him.  I would love to settle this through the BBB since this is where I originally found his advertising on your site.  A legal route is not my preference and I've stated that to him, but feel as if I'm running out of options without clear communication from him.
