10/26/57 date I used Vermont Central Construction August 2022 for a paving job and liked it. The owner was present and operated the large machinery with his wife.I hired the ** again & the owner forgot about me but called me in October to apologize & said he'd get it done. His crew of 3 came 1st & I assumed he'd come later as before, but unknown to me he'd left for *******. The supervisor said the owner usually operated the machines but he would this time instead of the owner. One worker was the supervisor's friend a woman who had never done paving. The other man was new also. They were supposed to dig out the area in a gravel drive that was to be paved & spread the gravel on the rest of the gravel drive & then pave the dug out area. They just laid the pavement down. The supervisor let the man who was learning drive the ********** laid too much in the middle making a hump and dumped a mess on the city sidewalk. They shoveled it back & hand tamped it. The pavement was 3 or 4 inches higher than the driveway & the lawn. They managed to even out the driveway on the sidewalk side, but still the darn hump. The workers said they would tamp gravel to even out the drop from the drive and said that would solve the issue. I paid them & trusted them as the past job was o.k. It didn't solve the problem. The cars bump up and down on the drop and potholes are always there. The problem I hired them to solve (the drop to the gravel drive) is now instead at the drop from the pavement except there is more of a drop.I called the owner, *******************, and he said the transition is normal from the pavement. I know this is not true as I had another drive just like it and Vermont roads have transitions from pavement to gravel all over and there is no noticable drop or difference in height between pavement and gravel.I have asked ******************* to correct the issue. Recently I asked him if he would consider just looking at the issue. He hasn't answered since the beginning of November.
