I ordered a pellet stove on January 12, 2023. I was told that it would take awhile to receive it as it is a made to order and there is a shortage. I put a deposit down of $4,757. They came to deliver the pellet stove at the end of March. When they arrived with the stove, they noticed the bearings were broken. After further review there were other broken parts on the stove. I asked how long it would take for the stove and they said, not long. It is May 21st and I have been calling for several weeks with no response from Demers Chimney. I received an email that there were delays due to a merger. I responded to that email and emailed several more times with no response. I've left voicemails and repeated emails that I would like my original deposit returned to me. I was already hesitant about them fixing the stove instead of providing me with a new stove since I paid the amount for a new stove.I would like my deposit back so I can get a new pellet stove from a different company before winter. I can't afford to keep waiting when my oil bills are $1,000/month. That's why I ordered a pellet stove.I also contacted ***********: Chimney ***************** Services who are merging with Demers. They said that they would contact them right after I got off the phone with them. It's been several days and I haven't received a response.

I scheduled a chimney cleaning and inspection for 11 /29 with Demers Chimney Service. It was scheduled between 3:15 to 5:15 but ******, owner of the business, came to our house at 1:00 without calling. I happened to be home so that was ok. He came in and started working on removing the pipe. He lets me know that he has asthma. That he usually works in the office and was only out helping to get work done because they were swamped. Lets me know he has to go to a funeral on Friday. Gets the pipe off. Let's me know that he needs to have certain brushes to clean it but that he does not have them with him and is really not sure where they are. Says that he has to be the one to clean the chimney and not the guys who work for him. I asked when he'd be back and he says that he has to go back to the office to look at his schedule to switch with one of his guys. Mentions again about the funeral on Friday but that he would let me know. He then stuffs a black bag in the hole because he does not want to struggle with taking off the pipe again. We don't hear from ****** or anyone from his office. I call and leave a few messages but nobody calls back. We were left questioning if they were going to even do the job. It is almost impossible to find someone to do the cleaning now. Finally I get a call back on 12/6. Secretary tells me that ****** has not been in for a couple of days and that she would get back to me. Then I get a text saying that ******************* would arrive at my house between 9 and 11 on 12/9. Also a email saying services: sweep it, ****** took the pipe out. I guess it is now ok to send someone else other than ******? I call back because nobody can take the day off on Friday. I won't leave a house key to people I don't know. She said the next available appointment would not be until January. I ask again because we rely on the woodstove as a heat source if they can get someone sooner. She tells me they can only do Friday or we have to wait until January. Unbelievable.
