On 5-9-2023 our driveway was paved by Premier Paving for $4,000. Some man came and scuffed our gravel driveway with his shoe and told me didn't need a stone base for our driveway. No phone call or consult was given so we had no answered questions The existing base was graded and a layer of pavement was put down. We stayed off the driveway for 2 full weeks when we were told 3 days. The driveway has a lot of spots with stones that are just barely held into the pavement. With 3 90-degree days, my husband drove out of our driveway and some stones lifted leaving a pitted area that will only grow larger. I contacted ***** at Premier and she told me to send pics. I did, and ***** told us that we skidded our tires or turned them back and forth on the driveway. We are 60, we don't do that. I also sent pics of the barely attached stones and also a flat spot right in front of the garage that will collect water and cause ice. The driveway was not properly prepped and sloped. We also have a huge unsightly seam up the entire middle of the driveway. He will say it is a tire **** but it isn't we park 2 wide and don't touch it. It runs to the middle of our one car garage so it is impossible to have been a tire. I attached an invoice from a friend's driveway in 2022. They got a one-year warranty. We didn't get that. Is it just the people who get stone brought in who get warranty? We would have done that, if we had been given the opportunity. Shouldn't everyone get a warranty if the job was done right? I have had a knee replaced and bad hips. We don't need standing water in front of our garage in the winter. I sent Premier Paving plenty of pics of the job and I was sent an Email by ***** saying that ***** looked at the pictures determined that it was our fault. Not even a visit to look at the job. We are very dissatisfied with the entire driveway because it is so stony and has a big ugly seem down the middle. We work hard for our money too and feel that they should make it right.

    Business Response

    Date: 06/09/2023

On May 9th we paved the driveway.  May 10th we sent an email bill with a cover letter stating to go to Premier Paving website for "Asphalt Protection tips" on the newly paved driveway.  May 10th we got a email thank you very much from the homeowner.  May 11th we responded with email and again told them to go to the website for the asphalt protection tips.  June 2nd we received an email with pictures of the driveway that looked to be what we call "scuff marks" .  The homeowners insisted that it was more than scuff marks and sent more pictures.  The owner of Premier Paving went to see the driveway and confirmed that these areas are scuff marks.  There is a seem in the middle of the driveway that is caused by the paver extension, this occurs when paving.  We don't warranty scuff marks, asphalt takes a long time to fully cure and in extreme hot weather longer.  We were going to have the company that we purchased the asphalt from go take a look  to make sure the asphalt was the right mixture, but on June 6th we got an email from the homeowner to cancel all site visits (see attachment).
