      Our property mgr recommended we call ******** when our crawlspace heater broke recently. So I called them and I said, "No rush but when you're in the neighborhood, etc." I was surprised when their repair guy called me within a couple hours to say he was in my crawlspace and he needed a part and another visit to fix the heater. Then pretty soon thereafter we received a bill for $264 that included a $95 "Dispatch Fee" and $30 for "Consumables Supplies." I called ********. The woman said the $30 was for things like latex gloves and paper towels. (I'm not sure where they buy their latex gloves and paper towels but I'm guessing they could find a better a deal.) She also asked if anyone ever told me that $264 is the bare minimum they charge for an initial assessment. "No, no one did," I said."Well, they should have," she said.Yes, they should have. They should have explicitly told me they were making a special trip (other neighboring condo owners had the same issue and Bournes was servicing them) and they should have told me I would be charged a $95 dispatch fee and $30 for a couple of latex gloves. They have already agreed to remove the $30. I would also like them to drop the $95 dispatch fee since I never would have agreed to this. I have no problem paying for an hour of labor.
