My vehicle was towed to Hop To It on **************** in ******* without my knowledge and they want $4,250 for the tow. The vehicle was less than a mile from my home in ditch on the side of the road, not blocking the road or a driveway or otherwise in anyones way. I slid into the ditch after midnight, it was pouring rain and visibility was awful. I walked home and was going to walk back in the morning after the sun came up, when I could see and it wasnt raining and would be safer to get it towed.I was woken up by police at my door 7 hours later informing me that my vehicle was at Hop To It towing and I could go pick it up there I called them to see what the bill was before I found a ride there and was told it was $4,250! That is absolutely ridiculous.I feel like they are holding my vehicle ****** and are adding $250/day storage until I pick it up.How can I do that when I dont have $4500 today and I wont have $4750 tomorrow or $5000 the following day to get my vehicle out and wait for reimbursement from insurance company, which may not happen anyway because they said bill is completely unreasonable and would not cover it.I dont know what to do I cant get to work without my vehicle and I dont have $4500

My name is ***************************** from Belmont, *******. I called Hop To It Towing for a quote to transport my ATV to **********, *************. I was told the charge would be $5 per loaded mile. They came and picked up the vehicle and charged me $700 !! Plainfield is 42 miles away form my home so I expected a bill for$210 or 42 miles at $5 a loaded mile.I called them back and was told that I was misinformed, The guy told me they charge "port to port" meaning from Rutland to Belmont to Plainfield or 120 miles at 5$ per mile. That figures out to be by the way $5.83 per mile, for every mile...loaded or not! I paid the $700. I feel I have been taken advantage of. This is a reprehensible business practice and I am out 700 bucks. Signed, Angry and Thoroughly Disgusted
