Our stay was beyond awful, the worst place we ever stayed in. I can't even bring myself to give it one star. The conditions of this room are beyond anything we could have imagined. The room was marked non-smoking, however as soon as we walked in you could, without a doubt, smell cigarettes. The window screen has a huge tear but we could get past that. The bathroom door has a large hole punched in it, and didn't close. The bathroom is crawling with black mold around the tub, the shower head was completely covered in, yes, once again, black mold. I went to the front desk to address these issues, and as soon as I mentioned the black mold being a health hazard the man behind the counter (didn't want to give me his name but had red hair and red *****) stated that the mold does not concern him or affect him as he is healthy. I am sure he sensed his response didn't sit well with me because the next day the mold was spray painted over, and the door hinges were tightened. Hardly a fix. Needless to say we did not take showers there, and ended up using facilities elsewhere. The room was not once cleaned during our stay, the sink is about as messy as it gets, the beds have seen better days, covers had cigarette ***** in them, the sheets smelled like cigarettes as well. Towels are apparently a luxury because they are only available at the front desk, no one brings them up unless you specifically ask to have them dropped off. Same with soap or shampoo. The ***************** needs to see this and shut this place down for, at the minimum, some very much needed renovations and meeting the code. If you at all can please do not stay here.

We booked two weeks at this hotel through a travel agent and paid well over $200 per night, prepaid for the entire stay. When we arrived the place was in very poor condition. The place appeared to be a place for homeless people to stay. However, we could accept all of this, but what crossed the line was people smoking crack-cocaine on the property outside of our rooms. They were eyeing our truck and we felt very unsafe. I contacted the travel agency and they apologized and said they would try to cancel our reservation and get the money back for the remainder of the stay. I also called the hotel and spoke to someone. I explained what happened and he apologized and asked me not to mention the crack smoking to the travel agent. He did not seem surprised that people were smoking crack on the property. In the end, I was informed that the Anchorage Inn refused to cancel our reservation and our options were to stay there or pay the entire two weeks whether staying there or not. I called the hotel multiple times, emailed, and emailed the owner of record. No one answered the phone or responded to any email I sent. We had a legitimate reason for wanting to cancel. The hotel cost over $200 a night. I would expect at the price to feel safe and not have anyone committing crimes on the property. We did not stay there beyond the first night, and called all the right people to explain the situation. We cannot understand why the Anchorage Inn insisted on keeping our money and completely ignoring us, even when it was clearly an unsafe and legally questionable situation. We are very disappointed and feel the BBB should know and the Anchorage Inn should have an opportunity to make things right.

Booked on 4/10/23 for one night. I had 2 employees of mine traveling for work and booked this hotel. When they arrived the bathroom door got jammed, leaving one guest stuck inside. The other guest went up front to get help. The person working that night looked to be on drugs, came to the room and kicked in the door. Made a mess of the room and door. Scared my employees daughter and wife. They packed up and went to another hotel down the road.
