Im sorry I have to file yet another complaint against a moving company but sadly, that is the case. Truly, I have poor judgement when it comes to choosing moving companies. The move occurred August 16th. I was charged $900.00 for a move that I had been led to believe would cost approximately $700.00.The thugs who showed up with a U-haul were rude and so unpleasant, that I was reduced to tears. The final insult to the whole ordeal is that I am missing items. Either they were misplaced or there was theft. Which one of those it was doesnt matter all that much; the point is that I am without those items, which include two brand new never before used floor lamps, valued at approximately $100.00 (Id have to check on the exact value), along with two casserole dishes, a baking pan and other baking tools, probably valued at between $50.00 and $100.00.Id like either the items returned or $200.00 from the mouth breathers who made my life a misery for the five agonizing hours Ill never get back.An apology would be nice too. Not to me - if I never set eyes on those two hooligans again, it will be too soon - but to the property management offices on both ends who they treated with utter contempt and disdain. I dont care how bad of a day they were having; you simply dont treat people that way. Their behavior and attitude was thoroughly despicable.

Thank you for forwarding this "complaint".

On Monday, August 15, early afternoon I received a call from this customer stating that her moving company that she had scheduled did not show up and requested moving rates and availability.  I quoted her, 2 Men & truck @ $180/hour which includes travel time to and from ********* (standard rates).  She stated that she had a 1 bedroom apt and was at the 3rd floor at origin going to the 5th floor at destination.  I explained to her that the move would take anywhere from 4-6 hours ($720-$1080) based on that information.  She stated that the price was more than what the "other company" (she used derogatory words) had quoted her but we still scheduled to do the move on Tues, the next afternoon.  We already had 2 small moves scheduled but added her on.  That morning she called me 5 times wondering if  we were going to show up and what time.

When we did arrive, the apt was loaded with boxes (roughly 150) with limited furniture.  She proceeded to literally stand directly behind us/beside us as we were loading,.  I needed to ask her repeatedly to "please move out of the way" at least 5-6 times.  Finally, she sat in her kitchen as we loaded.  Her stress level was extremely high.  She then wanted to ride in the back of the truck with her dog and her belongings as we traveled from one town to the next.  We informed her that she could not do so for safety reasons, at which she started making snide remarks and eventually found a ride with a neighbor.  At destination, I needed to ask her to unlock the apartment at least 3 times so that we could unload into her apartment, but instead she sat by the lobby elevator just watching.  At first, I thought she was going to keep the doors open to the building as the manager was hesitant to allow us to keep the doors pried open, but she just sat on the bench,  as we could not get into the building she would then have to get up each time, walk over and open the door.  Eventually, the real building manager showed up and allowed us to pry the doors open as i standard.

At the end of the move, she tried to pass me a check without signing it, double-checked the math of the bill ($180 * 5)at least 2-3 times, and surveyed her belongings stating that shed had everything and that nothing was damaged.  Finally, yesterday morning I received an insulting email which I contacted ******************** about and can forward if needed which doesn't jive.  I hope the check clears.  Please call me as I have more info and can forward email.

We busted our **** getting this done in 5 hours.  We were never meant with any type of appreciation, just stress, distrust and contempt.

I did not go into the fact that she was stressed over melting ice cream over the personal insults, but this experience was not worth the job and apparently, this is standard for this customer.
