  In February 2024, my basement flooded and I called ******************* to assist determining and fixing the cause. He had done plumbing work for me years before. He came but could not figure out the cause. I suggested we replace the water heater even though it did not appear to be the problem because it's more than 10 years old. A day or two later he called to say he needed a check for $1700 to buy the replacement water heater. Still freaked about the water in my basement, I drove to **************** and gave him a cashier's check.Again, I didn't hear from him for a couple days and in the meantime I figured out that a crack in the disposal pipe leaving the house was the actual cause. He came back with a wet vac and described a multipronged solution involving temporarily wrapping the pipe until springtime when he'd get a back hoe to investigate the external section of pipe. Again, I didn't hear from him for a few days, so I called Pipe Dreams, another local plumber I'd heard good things about. Those two super heroes came and permanently fixed the pipe and checked the septic tank it empties into within a couple hours! I paid just over $600 for a complete permanent fix. I couldn't have been happier.I told ***** to cancel the job to replacement the water heater and give me money back. He's made a million excuses since then but I still have not received any of the $1700 I gave him.I've spoken with ***** and/or his wife, **** at least a half-dozen times. Both of them act very sincere and assure me that they are going to pay me back but they're going through hard times. I lowered the amount I want back to $1500, but still no satisfaction. They act sweet as pie and then I never hear from them and have never received my money back.

  Neither of the two options offered apply to my situation. But as it is not yet resolved, I selected this one: I have not heard from the business in response to my complaint.

  I have spoken to ******************* of KB Construction on May 31, 2024. He promised (again) that he will reimburse me. I'm still waiting to see if this time he will pay me back.
