    Gave a deposit for work to be done 10/11/2022 - project kept being pushed off for a variety of reasons - he never did any work.January 2024 I sent an email stating I did not want to continue with the work plans and asked for deposit back. ****** said he had used the money on his current project, but would give it back in about 6 weeks. I had to send numerous email asking about deposit - he finally sent $1,000 back and continued to promise the rest. I asked ****** to take a loan out to give us our money back. It is now July, 6 months since I asked for deposit back, and it feels like we are no closer to a resolution.

    I do understand her complaint.  We did receive the deposit with contract to complete a project on her home.  When they signed the contract we had a couple projects in front of them, and were scheduled out until at least the following summer, and they did understand that.  Jobs changed and construction delays happened, we are still working on the project that we thought was going to be completed earlier this year prior to beginning their project, we wanted to work with her to squeeze her project in but the timing never allowed.  We have every intention of returning the full deposit amount once our current project is completed.  However, the timing and delays have been outside of our control.  We have also tried to work with her and returned small amounts as we are able.  It was never our intention to put her in this position, and we did have all intentions of completing the project they had requested. And we will make this right with them, even if the timing is not ideal, which we understand.

    I sent deposit money to go towards our project, which it did not, it was used for other projects.  I realize this is common practice, but not good practice.  I have difficulty trusting ****************** as he has told me many times he will refund us soon, but never has.  I have lost the interest I could have made on this money while he has had, basically, an 'interest free' loan from us.  As a business person, I see no reason why ****************** cannot obtain a personal, business, or home equity loan to pay us back our deposit.

    When we pay the customer back in full, we will include an extra 5% to make up for any interest she would have lost. Again, we are sorry for the delays and will update this complaint when the amount owed is refunded to the customer.

    What I am looking for is a time frame for the refund.  In three months it will be going on TWO YEARS that ****************** has had our money, and 7 months now from when he said 6 more weeks.   I feel that I have been more than patient.
