I first spoke to Nicole Feb 13th via phone call regarding a wedding photo session in ************. My fiance and I are eloping to try to save money. I was detailed about what we wanted and that it was not possible to go to the *ast side of the park for photos due to having family and friends waiting for us to have a small celebration in the *** Going to the * side would have resulted in 6hrs of driving alone - leaving just 2hrs for photos. She said that wouldn't be a problem and she would have ideas for the West side of the park and would provide assistance completing park wedding permit which other photographers had noted could be denied if not completed with specific details in it. That was the last time i spoke with Nicole over the phone as she was "too busy" to speak with me via phone or respond to messages. It was disturbing that after we gave her a $600 deposit that she would not provide the time of day to speak to us despite stating that we would both be in extremely intensive training programs soon and that it was urgent that we complete it asap before we would 1) be too busy to do wedding planning and 2) too late to put in our application to get married in the park. Her response being, "I'm swamped this week". Once I was finally able to communicate with her, she was extremely rude and belittling saying I was asking for too much because I did not want to drive 6 hours, bike ride in my wedding dress 8 miles to a road she did not even realize was closed until i sent her screenshots of the park website, or get married in the most crowded campground in the park. At no point did she provide assistance for completing the application. When asked why she was not being responsive, she said she had family emergencies. Meanwhile, I could see her frequent Instagram selfies skiing in MT. She agreed to provide a portion of the $600 payment (booked less than 1 month prior). She then denied the refund and stated i could bring her her court, "tribal court here in *******".

    Business Response

That sounds like a very frustrating experience and I'm sorry for this customer. However, I think they are confusing my business with someone else.
I have had no dealings or contact with this person whatsoever. I am located in *******, **, not *******. While I am familiar with ************, and do take the permitting process very seriously, we would also have been discussing travel fees for me to complete an elopement there which would have been included in that retainer, which I have not received. My pricing is also on a much different scale than that of a $600 retainer.  My contract also states that disputes would be handled in ********** courts, not Montana's Tribal courts.

I have never spoken to this person. I have also included a screenshot of my own instagram feed which does not included any skiing in *******.

It is very unfortunately that this other Photographer has treated them this way and I hope they have time to find a replacement. However, my business has had no dealings with this customer and I suggest they check with their credit card or payment processor for more accurate information and a process a charge back or dispute.
