I contracted with Zions Concrete LLC to repour a failing section of my driveway, and seal the finished driveway and remaining original section of driveway, sidewalk and front porch aggregate concrete. They had completed two neighbors' driveway redo projects down the street, and the work looked great. We contracted the job for $3,920.40, with a slight adjustment in price after the original estimate was estimated smaller than the required concrete. On July 21, 2023, the ************************* removed the existing driveway sections, poured the new concrete and exposed the aggregate top. I was on vacation, but my son was home. The workers worked into the late evening, left a mess of slurry running down the street, which was not evident until the morning. I returned on Saturday afternoon, July 22. The driveway work was not up to the standards, and the street was a mess. I called ****************, my contact. He visited and agreed the job was not done correctly. He blamed the concrete mix. Over the next 3 1/2 months, he promised to return to redo the job, but has not. He has set dates and not shown up, not returned calls or emails, then agreed to finish after October 20. Now it is too late to redo the job. I would prefer a finished redo, but will settle for a refund so I can restart the project. I paid 50% of the job fee up front. I have photos, video and job estimate.

On the day that our contractor was scheduled to complete this project, customer requested to cancel the job in fear that we are not able to pour her concrete above 50degree weather (which we are able to) We have no problem finishing this project as it needs to be completed. As long as she allows us to complete it.

Customer was given the option to have ********************** complete her project. We had a date and day scheduled and customer decided to cancel due to weather (cold/rain) in fear that it would affect the concrete. We are still able to finish her project if she would allow us to. Just a few extra steps that we would have to take to ensure that her concrete heals properly because of the weather, however, we can get it done. Customer can reach me directly at the office (2530327-5305 so that we can schedule her accordingly. I will also speak directly to our ******* in regards to cleaning up the stains on her concrete that she had mentioned in her complaint. Thank you!

    Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  I have been told that Zion Concrete's representative will work with me to schedule a date the week of January 8, 2024.  I have been told they will remove the existing, poor quality poured concrete, correct stains on other sections of concrete, and replace with matching aggregate that has added calcium to cure in colder weather.  As long as they complete the job on time and to the quality expected, this will be acceptable.

If the job is not completed, or is not done to match existing concrete, I will refile a complaint.

    Thank you.

    Sincerely,

    Customer Answer

Hi, I had placed complaint #******** at the end of 2023 against Zion Concrete LLC. They had failed to finish a job, which required redoing a faulty pour of my driveway. After filing, an agreement was reached to have Zion come out, remove the existing pour and redo it. They have failed to show up and complete the work. Despite many emails and calls, they have ghosted me. Should I file another complaint, or is there a process of follow up available with BBB? Please let me know. Thank you. ********************* ************
