    Monday 7/22 I signed a contract with Battle Ground Mini Storage (BGMS) for unit number 404. Tuesday 7/23 around 7pm I went to my storage unit, and found that there was a lock placed on the door, preventing me from accessing the unit. The office was closed. I called and left a voicemail. Wednesday, my plan was to ride my motorcycle to the storage unit, store my motorcycle in my storage and pickup the 20ft uhaul truck I reserved for an 8am pickup. I had already supplied my registration insurance for my motorcycle. Because a lock was placed on my unit preventing me access, I was not able to store my motorcycle, forced to catch an **** to pick up the uhaul. When I arrived to pickup the uhual this morning 7/24 at 8am, after paying for the uhual and completing majority of the self check-in process, I found there was not a combination lock on the back of the truck. I looked all around the truck and inside the truck. I called uhual customer service, who attempted to reach the site manager. The site manager did not answer. I was then transferred to the schedule department. From there I was rerouted to ******** location. Due to **** not upholding their end of the rental agreement, I then had to take another **** to the ******* location. I arrived home at 9:30am versus my planed time of 8:30am. I hired movers through uhual to start at 9am. So I lost 30 minutes of movers. I called the **** location today and spoke to ****. **** advised a lock was placed on my storage unit by mistake from ther their security team. She also advised she didnt know why the combination lock was not placed on the truck, and that my reservation was in the system for self check-in. Now **** is ignoring me. I have emailed BGMS Unit on 08/13 and 08/19, and I have not received any response.This is the total cost I ensured due to BGMS placing a lock on my storage unit causing me not to have access to my unit and for it staff not setting the combination lock on the truck is$148.46

    Thank you for bringing this situation to our attention, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience youve experienced.

    Firstly, we want to clarify that the issues you encountered with the U-Haul truck rental were not directly related to our facility or our management team. The absence of a combination lock on the truck and the failure to extend the movers' time are unfortunate lapses on U-Hauls part, and I agree that they should have provided the $50.00 truck guarantee as well as extended the movers free of charge. We will be addressing this matter with our U-Haul Area Manager to prevent future issues of this nature.

    Regarding the lock on your storage unit, we acknowledge that a mistake was made by our security team, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience it caused you. As for the refund for your storage unit, I can confirm that a refund of $65.00 was issued on August 6th to the card on file. If you have not seen this refund reflected in your account, please let us know, and we will follow up immediately to ensure it is processed correctly.

    We understand how frustrating this situation has been and are addressing it with our team and the Uhaul AFM to prevent any similar issues in the future. We truly apologize for the inconvenience this caused you during your move.
