I started working for Apartment Advantage in April of 2022, upon hire I was not informed of a buyout contract that would need to take place from a potential employer for permanent placement. I have gotten a verbal warning for being sick with bronchitis which is contagious, they wanted me to go in anyway. When I asked my employer for my employee contract I was told that they cannot give me a copy, just that I would need to drive to their office to look it over and not allowed to take a copy of my contract home. The way they go about their business is very shady, and I just want out of the contract they refuse to give me.

Apartment Advantage has reviewed the notification letter pertaining to a complaint provided by a current employee, ***************

Health and safety for all Apartment Advantage employees and clients are of the utmost importance; we remind all employees to follow CDC guidelines and stay home when sick. Apartment Advantage will not require any employee to attend their scheduled shift if the employee has stated illness as a reason for calling out. When callouts become excessive, Apartment Advantage will acknowledge the situation by speaking with the employee to ensure that the agreed-upon expectations are met.

In regard to the Permanent Placement Policy, ************** was informed of the buy-out requirements during the application process. Apartment Advantage goes over this policy during the initial phone interview, in-person interview, and the New Hire Orientation appointment. During the New Hire Orientation, an Apartment Advantage Recruiting Specialist discloses the terms of the Employee Agreement and allows the employee an opportunity to seek any clarification needed prior to signing. The employee is then given one physical copy of the signed agreement. For privacy reasons, it is Apartment Advantage policy that only one copy is to be given at the time of hire; if another copy is requested, the employee is permitted to review the signed agreement in the Apartment Advantage office during office hours. ************** was offered to schedule an appointment to review the agreement and ask any subsequent questions. ************** declined the invitation stating her questions were answered after speaking with an Apartment Advantage corporate associate over the phone.

Apartment Advantage has recently been made aware that ************** is approaching Apartment Advantage clients outside of work regarding possible employment.
