    I booked overnight accommodations at the Charter Boat Bed and Breakfast for the evening of July 26, 2022. Upon entering the room there was a very strong odor, that smelled like a combination of cat and cigarette smoke. I opened the window and vacated the premises hoping the smell would dissipate. I also texted Ms. *********************** asking if a fan was available. She stated one was not and suggested leaving for a couple of hours and returning later when the room would be cooler and the windows could be opened. I explained the concern with the odor, a problem Ms. ********************** stated did not exist. I engaged in a text exchange with Ms. *********************** in which I thought we agreed that by vacating the premises and having been in the space for less than a half an hour, a refund would be issued. In further text exchanges on July 27, Ms. ********************** stated that no refund would be issued and that there was no previous complaint about smell. Both my daughter and I found the smell to be very strong and untenable. Additionally, the carpet had stains and there was no lock between the B&B room and what appeared to be the rest of the house. Ms. ********************** states that her refund policy is clearly outlined on her website. However there was no way that we could know of the strong odor prior to arriving on site.
